When the equation editor is open/active, there should be a new (and
shorter) set of menus at the top of the window... Under the "Size" menu is
a "Define" option, it usually lets me adjust all the font sizes. I think it
enforces the same settings on all inserted equations in an entire document,
that can cause problems...
this editor makes my subscripts like size 1, with the other variables
around size 16 with no ability to change either, i could kick Bill Gates in
the face right now.
