I had one too many experiences similar to yours where the stylist is relentlessly trying to push me to do something I have no interest in. And when I would try to get a better understanding of what they were trying to do (ie how will it help? Why do I need it? Is there a way I can do it at home?) they were all too wispy washy on the details. Smh. Good for you for sticking to your guns. Your hair looks great now, so clearly didn't NEED the Keratin Treatment. Great video!

Great video boo n ur hair looks amazing. I can't stand stylists like that I'm glad u stood ur ground n had them do wat u wanted them to do. I got talked into getting a cut long time ago the stylists said my ends were bad n now I know better and wen I think back my ends were not bad at all. I feel u tho its nice to treat urself but these r the exact reasons I dnt go to salons thanx to u n other ladies on yt I do my own hair.

I use to be a hairstylist when I was in my early 20's but that was in the 90's things have changed a lot ppl no nothing about customer service now days period. I think too the more educated you are on ur own hair, the more difficult it is to find a good hairdresser. I trained my husband to trim my nape área he's the only one I trust:-)

Just terrible sdestra...little do they know, ur a guru (who is still learning everyday like the rest of us) in your own right. Yeah i too was told that i'd better relax my hair or it would fall out (went for a serious haircut in dec 2012). She should have been happy with he pleasure of butchering me with my permission LOL

I have walked out of a salon with my hair dripping wet because the stylist ignored my request to gently detangle my hair. Damn near walked out with the cape, but I remembered right before I left, that it was still on. I hate to hear stories about people getting a setback because they were afraid to speak up. Great vid!

Great video! I have not been to a salon since highschool! if i do have to treat myself i think i will try to find a natural hair salon that i can trust so i dont have to be scared lol,.. but on a different note your hair looks great! you should do more impromptu videos like this!! :)

Thanks babe! Where in south florida? Keratin is a no-no in my book for anyone period. It's still new (I may be wrong) and I rather cut my hair than to get that mess and destroy my hair. I should have showed the text my husband sent me while I was there after I vented to him...lol.

Then there are the stylist who just want your money! I stopped going to the hair stylist when she picked up the scissors right after I told her that I did not want a hair trim. After, I snapped at her, she told me "your hair needed shaping". 2008 was the last time I was in a salon!

Aww thanks hun! A few people told me the same...but I am shy...lol. I was hot mad when I recorded it and felt I needed to just let it out. And it was a time to tell the ones who are upset after leaving the salon to use their voice and will power. Thanks so much for the compliment!

Stop it...lol! You called me a guru and I'm humbled by it because I never considered myself as one...lol. I appreciate that from the bottom of my heart. I love when they say that. You breathe, they tell you that your hair will fall out...lol.

LOL...no problem hun and thanks for the compliment. I don't think I'm going to the salon for a minute unless I want a cut. But then, I'll do all the prepping before I go. Maybe it was a sign to keep doing it myself...lol.

Great advice, I only see my stylist unless I really need to. Apart from that I take care of my own hair that way I can guarantee that my hair comes out the way I want it to.
