@Druid595 I cannot believe the scale of how idiotic your comments are. This was a great game at the time, and so what if, as according to you, the "graphics weren't advanced enough"???? It's all about the GAMEPLAY you retard!!!!!!!!!! What were Rockstar supposed to do? Hang around and wait for someone else to do it? I don't give a damn about your course or your lecturer, GTA III was a pioneering game that moved the industry forward. Your comments are an insult to real gamers everywhere.

@Druid595 uhh... This game changed the industry when it came out. It was hailed as "the next revolution in gaming..." It was the first 'mainstream' game to mix generes and be acceped by the public and critics alike. Sure today, it's old news, but it laid the groundwork for many games to come. Remember, just a year before this game came out, the Nintendo 64 and Playstation (1) had 'cutting edge' graphics, and you call this bad?

@spyder1138 I'm doing a course at college about video game development, and this was an example used on a lectuer - if you have a game you want to create but the graphics present aren't good enough to support it, then don't make it. They should of waited another year or so for graphics to enhance before creating it, and it would lay down groundwork for many games to come, like you said.

You know, if you're dragged out of the car, the Jamaican gangster will count down from 5 (might've been 10, I forgot) down to 1 and if you don't get back in the car before he's done, the mission fails and he'll say something along the lines of "Let's waste this fool!" and the gangsters will shoot at you. They'll also turn their backs on you if you take too long.

Do you now that you pick up the longer way to Portland island? You turned right on first street but you have to go down this street wnen the telephone is then turn right and turn right on the next street. Then you see tunel to portland island.

I tried doing this mission on my iPod, & there's this glitch where instead of the guy getting out of the car comes near you to talk to you, he just completely walks away & goes down the sidewalk, & there's no way for me to get out of it!

I'm re-playing this in 2013 today, its still feel so fucking amazing just as when I played it first in 2002, just like the commenter on fallout 3 said: " Playing a videogame only for graphics is like watching porn for its story"

For some reason, I think the Perennial is a horrible car to drive. I think this because of how it's so prone to flipping over on turns and how easy it is to make it careen off the road and/or send it flying.

One thing that is pretty cool about this game is the Cops yell like they mean business: "ALRIGHT DROP DOWN!!!" As opposed to the cops from Vice City when they say "Don't make me run, I'll get all sweaty."

Pokemon 3d games on the n64 were better graphics then this! You cannot say these were good graphics for its time, the game was far too big for good graphics...
