I follow ALL basketball :-) Kobe needs to let the Lakers go and rebuild. They will be dominant again in time, but this ain't the time. While I don't really follow the Lakers, I was absolutely disgusted w/ Kobe this past yr. I was hoping he would display some maturity as his career is winding down, but when he shot the team OUT OF GAMES (esp that abysmal performance where he took like 39 shots to score 37 points) I realized Kobe is Kobe and it's more important to him to feed his ego and finally best MJ at SOMETHING, then to mentor young guys and leave on a positive note. Nash is almost lucky he got injured again, since it allowed him to retire and jump off this sinking ship.  In short, The Lakeshow is screwed right now, and will continue to be until Mr. Selfish finally hangs it up. My argument is that some women can hang w/ the guys. Maybe not always win, but certainly hang, and I think Delle Donne is one of them. I agree that in the men's game, she would be best utilized as a three point specialist/scoring threat off the bench.Since you took the time to read my responses, would you mind sharing your opinion on the Felton/ Cheryl Miller debate? +Jean Gentry i hear you and you've made some good points in a one on one there are definatley a number of girls playing in the wnba that could take on lesse rplayers in the nb. but as far as a real 5 on 5 game i jus can't see it the game is a lot faster more physical. i see you mentioned some guys who lacked certain athletic traits the thing with those guys is they often had something in turn to help level the playing field. nate robinson is bulit like a tamk but is also fast spudd webb was a freak athlete larry bird had a great shot freakish iq and was a wizard at pasing iverson agian small but he had cat like quickness when you look at dell donne what trait does she have that can help here even the playing field not frekishly fast nor athletic not big not overly tall the only thing she really has going for her is her shooting ability which goes back to my point which is at best che would be a kyle kover mike miller type of player. no shame in that those guys get paid well but in my opinion its ludicrous to think she could be anything more than that

There are some NBA role players who play no D and only shoot 3 pointers. I think a woman can potentially do that. That's if she has a superhuman release and can shoot free throws. But, I don't think that a woman can be dominant or be an AllStar.

C, Miller is 6'1/6'2 and was around 185 in her playing days. there are plenty of 6'1 guys in the league, then and now. I actually chose Felton for the "scrub v women's player" comparison because he is similar in size to her (about the same height, but a little heavier). For the NBA, she'd most likely be a PG, maybe undersized SG (not unheard of). As for EDD, One- she doesn't play center. her position on the Sky is SF. she was playing center temporarily because the previous center, Sylvia Fowles, wanted a trade, which she got, so EDD is back in the swingman position. she's 6'5, about 180-something. taking into account her ability to score, she'd probably play SG in the league. Also, as I have mentioned previously, physical attributes ALONE do not define a player, nor are they an accurate assessment of their SKILL. Being Shaq- wise don't make you great, and being Nate Robinson size doesn't make you terrible. there are plenty of NBA players (aside from the super short guys i mentioned earlier) that had a lack of a particular physical attribute. Larry Bird was unathletic, AI was undersized for his position, as was Dennis Rodman. They adjusted, worked w/ what they had, and made due. Noone brings up AI's lack of height or Larry's inability to jump. They overcame that. You think a woman couldn't do the same?  Couldn't adjust her game? Also, I don't think you ever gave a valid explanation as to how or why a scrub could beat a HOF, (outside of, she's female). So, considering size/weight in no longer a factor because they are similar in that area, what do you say now? How does Felton stand a chance against a LEGEND of the game?

Even thought c. Miller may be a better shooter than some NBA players, she's much: shorter, slower, smaller, weaker, etc, you need an all around game to play. Elena Della Donne plays trucking center in the wnba, she'd be a PG in the NBA, and she doesn't have the speed or skills to be one at all.

She is also in 2 other HOF's- the Women's BBall HOF and the FIBA HOF. Also, she was drafted into the Us Basketball League, a men's league that was often used as a springboard to the NBA. The only reason she didn't last long was due to knee injuries. And before anyone complains about the USBL being "D-League," "Bush League", or any of that junk, keep in mind that several well known NBA players, such as Manute Bol, Anthony Mason, and Avery Johnson went from the USBL to the NBA.

You may be right about that first part, but I can guarantee that there are no WNBA players whom could compete in the NBA league, it just simply wouldn't happen. When you take a look at the ANNUAL plays, they look like plays in which an average NBA top 10 would have, they are simply on a different skill level all together.

I remember a friend of mine who played handball. He told me since they played first league in their age group they had a friendly match against the current women national team he and his team mates were 16 or younger. They won by a significant margin think it was 5 goals or more.
