The Temple of Ahn'qiraj (AQ40) & C'thun Lore & Loot - The Explorer #4
This time I will go over the lore of C'thun and Ahn'qiraj For More: Twitch: //bit.ly/14bwcWK Youtube: //bit.ly/wowshow Twitter: //bit.ly/17948OE Anook: ...
Silithus region on Kalimdor. Go south west you will see a big temple in ruins. The first entrance you see to the left is Ahn'qiraj Ruins 20 man raid C'Thun is in Ahn'qiraj Temple 40 man raid to the right there is a path leading to it.
C'thun Audio
This is a short Video showing C'thun and the stuff he says when you Raid him.
OK SO:
How comes we could listen to C'thun's ACTUAL voice during VANILLA as level
60 scrubs, but a titan created aspect went mad from the whispers from a
LOCKED old god?
+MoonMoonFang But how come we (our characters) were able to stand both the whispers of C'thun and Yogg? They seem to be able to drive any mortal insane other than our characters.
the old gods was physically locked, not mentally and the black flight was in charge of the earth itself(the ground, mountains, etc) they were closer to the old gods than the other flights therefore the old gods whispers was heard by the black flight, another thing to consider is that even though the old gods was was imprisoned, they're capable of using other beings as "messengers".
In my humble opinion, C'thun has one of the creepiest and most unsettling
voices of all the WoW bosses because it's so emotionally detached and cold.
Yogg-Saron's is intimidating, cool, and scary but there's something about
C'thun's that just strikes a deeper chord for me. I think because even
though Yogg-Saron's is more overtly frightening there's a warmth of rage to
his voice, while C'thun's is a cold, quiet terror.
well Yogg-Sarron is creepy as hell when he says "Your will is no longer your own." Also his box is scary as hell.Y'sharaj is creepy when you enter his realm. It feels like he is all around you and so convincing that outside world is destroyed. His line "I can taste the essence of your soul....it is sweet" is frightning.Reason why C'thun is scary is he says everything in alien voice. Again he says that like so calmly like it's a fact that you will die. No taunting, no scaring just simply "You will die". It's pure psyhology. When Turks came to Europe (in this case Balkan), armies of those kingdoms and emipre usuallt yelled and made noise to scare enemy. Turks on the other hand simply stood calm still and made no noise. Only drum could be heared. That was the most effective way to scare your enemy. That's exactly why C'thun is so scary.
+Jellyfrosh It could be the new Skygina. (For those who have seen nostalgia critics review of The Langoliers.) Or, better yet, a langolier. Imagine if they were actually scary like this and not some of the worst rendered CGI in history.
He doesn't, really, I find it funny that you view it like that. The Old Gods have terrifying personalities in different ways. For example, Yogg'saron shouts and laughs insanely, threatens you in that booming voice. I find C'thun scarier. That calm, emotionless voice, clawing into your brain.. "You... Will... Die."
+TheBeavergay It was mathematically impossible to kill him until he was hotfixxed. He was basically the hardest boss ever put in WoW. Litterally no one ever got a kill on him until AFTER he was nerfed severely.
Loot FTW vs C'Thun (FULL VERSION)
This is the uncut version of Loot FTW vs C'Thun. I did not create the video. I rerendered it and scaled it up (16:9 / 720p). Enjoy.
I'm downloading the client, wanna play some vanilla. I've never played
though, i joined wow on the final patch of tbc. I've allways wanted to do a
40 man raid, xD, sound like fun.
@Thetrollinginger117 The number of Dark Glares/Weakened phases needed for
this kill are perfectly in line with what was needed in retail vanilla. No
double damage at all.
Seriously, your UI sucks ass. The screen locations seem designed for a
console game while the layout itself is messy as shit. Don't make videos
with a UI like this.
I ment server first kill. And I highly doubt that Feenix have been around
since retail vanilla since it had it's 2 years anniversary a couple months
ago.
The story of the old gods.Who are they, where did they come from and what have we done about them?! The lore of the titans & old gods is sometimes vague ...
if we ever do fight the true form of the old gods I don't want them to look
like any other creature in wow I want something straight out of a living
nightmare I want to be afraid while fighting them
Not possible. Never ever show an old gods true form because short of creating a design that will literally drive the person playing insane they can never do it justice.
Yogg-Saron manipulated the events with Bolvar because Frostmourne is
crafted from saronite. He witnessed the event and imo whispers to Arthas.
I have always been curious about Ner'zhul. Why after his torture by the
hands of Kil'Jaeden and his transformation into a lich did he suddenly
became so freaking powerful? Would Kil'Jaeden make a man who has betrayed
him once, so powerful not even he can control him? Why was Kil'Jaeden so
adamant that Illidan go to Northrend to stop him, afterall, the Scourge are
there to simply weaken azeroth, be they under his control or Ner'zhuls they
still do the job. What the heck made him so paranoid?
The reason is simple: Yogg-Saron. He IS Northrend, he influences
everything, saronite, his blood, is literally the ground you walk, he can
corrupt the world tree, he whispers to the people who simply walk the land
driving them mad. I believe that as soon as Ner'zhul was put onto Azeroth
and made the lich king, Yogg got to work, whispering & plotting. THAT's why
Ner'zhul was so defiant, that's why Ner'zhul was so powerful & that is why
Kil'jaeden shit his pants. Sargeras is terrified of the old gods, he knows
their power, Kil'jaden just handed a huge force into the hands of in my
opinion one of the most powerful & manipulative Old gods. With this
Frostmourne was constructed from saronite, Arthas was driven completely
insane upon landing on Northrend, burning his ships, allowing his men to be
slaughtered, leaving his friend for dead & taking up Frostmourne.
The line: "HE WILL LEARN, NO KING RULES FOREVER! ONLY DEATH IS ETERNAL!!"
is directly quoted by Arthas' "father" when the evil, old god, saronite
blade is destroyed and he leaks outs. What I'm hinting at, is that wasn't
Terenas Menethil, the old gods were attempting to trick Tirion Fordring
onto the frozen throne, it is clear there doesn't NEED to be a lich king.
Instead, Bolvar took the throne, and the story ends there...
That's my theory atleast.
no no no and NO. first, frostmourne wasn't crafted from saronite, it wasn't even made on azeroth, it, the throne, and the lk armor, were all made by kil'jaiden in the nether from shadow frost, ex: the quest for shadow frost shards in the shadowmourne quest line. second illidan was sent to northrend to kill the lk, not take over from him, an order given to him by kiljaiden after he found out that nerzhul had betrayed him. third, while I'm not 100% sure if nerzhul was influenced by old gods/yogg whatever, it remains that he betrayed kiljaiden and the legion, he was probably just angry and wanted revenge, I mean after getting tortured who wouldn't like to get back at the people who did it. fourth of all, the reason nerzhul was made and put on azeroth with so much power? well firstly he was first captyred , then horribly tortured, then given a chance, stay and continue in eternal agony, or do the legions bidding and weaken the world of azeroth for another invasion by the legion. as we all know nerzhul took the latter of the two choices and became the first lich king. he was given immense powers over the metaphysical, such as telepathy and mind control. why give a creature that you just tortured, recreated, and revived such power? their gonna need at least that much to take over a planet with as many defenses as azeroth. Finally, WHY oh WHY didn't he expect that the lk would betray him and take precautions? he did, he stuck the lk and his items of power, I.e. helm of domination/frostmourne, inside a block of shadowfrost so that he wouldn't become too powerful to where kiljaiden wouldn't be able to control him, he tied nerzhul's life force to it as well. but as we all also know, lk thrust frostmourne through his prison where it was eventually found by arthas. oh btw, there has ALWAYS got to be a lich king, to keep mental control over all the baddies in the scourge that couldn't be destroyed, that is to ensure that they don't go wild and berserk, because say what you will but it is cannon that arthas as lk was subliminally holding back the scourge from being ass big of a problem as it could have been. Well that seems to about cover your earlier comment, but if I left anything just post a new comment, ty for reading and goodbye.

Throughout the entire C'thun fight he will spawn small void zones. They
don't really hit for anything significant, but when you're fighting for
over 1 hour you'll begin to lag. I had about 50 fps when I started the
fight, but only 3-5 when I was done. This makes it very hard to survive the
stacking debuff. While fighting you should also try to stand out of range
of the stunning tentacles. Don't bother killing them. Only try this fight
if your computer can handle a lot of things happening at once
Got some additional info you should know if you're trying the C'thun part.
Bringing Ouro up there WILL get you ported out of his stomach, however it's
glitched in that the stomach acid debuff will start stacking and wont stop.
It gets removed as part of a script that engages when you're thrown out of
his stomach--which isn't happening because of the port. Strangely enough,
it seems you can reset the stomach acid by running directly at C'thun, he
will knock you back and the stacks disappear.
Fighting Ouro at the same time is still the only way to solo C'thun. You
can't, however, make C'thun vulnearable while doing it, so you have to kill
it while it only takes 1% dmg. This brings up quite a few issues. First
off: You get a stacking debuff that's only reset when you're sucked into
the stomach. On 99 stacks it's theoretically possible for you to die,
though as a DK it's not a big problem. The worst about the fight is that it
took me 1 hour and 45 minutes of contant combat.
@wowfreak62 Clearly you are a fucking ignorant fag who doesnt read the
comment very clearly and just run your mouth off. I can see by your
comments you riding his cock pretty hard. I clearly mentioned i was leaving
that comment before reading the description or watching the video. Yeah
after seeing it and him pulling it off it was pretty sweet. But i can tell
by your ignorant mouth you never even cleared this content with it was
anywhere near relevant.
I recently soloed both bosses on my DK, and I'd like to share a few tips.
Most of the bugs here do not work anymore. When soloing Twin Emperors you
simply have to out-damage the heal. I did it with about 19k dps, though
most of my attacks were necrotic strikes to negate the healing. I did it in
full tanking gear and about 385 ilvl. I got them to about 30% when I hit
the enrage timer, and thanks to vengeance it became a bit easier after that.
I don't mean to go AMG FAKE VID, but, since the people who are calling fake
on emps and completely ignoring C'thun are almost as retarded as the people
who are calling fake on emps in the first place, but Ouro dun have a
teleport ability O: All of your videos are incredibly well made and
incredibly entertaining, but everybody being retarded and misunderstanding
your description is pissing me off. Have fun deleting this post, or
something.
@MrArashnejad50 C'thun starts to pull in players in phase 2, you're meant
to run for a platform that'll fire you up, while DPS'ing the tendrils
inside and what not. Ouro (worm boss) just like many other bosses have an
ability that force-tele you up to them, meaning the time he spends in the
stomach isn't enough for C'thun to one shot him (takes about 5 seconds if
no one is fighting C'thun on the upper level)
If you can pull only 1 boss alone, it's trivial. Don't see any awesomeness
on that. And like was said, it's an exploit, can't be done anymore because
it was fixed. Gets a negative. Try to solo something without using exploits
plz, then we can think if it's awesome or not... because with exploits, its
ridiculous... a DK could do that with the 2 hands tied togheter.
C'Thun gets you a 100% /clap and praise, very very clever (Like
Patchwerk+Grob) but please go in to detail about said "good timing" for the
twin emperors, really any class cold solo them if they knew the "good
timing", unless someone figures out how to do it and shows it, or you go in
to greater detail, I would still consider the Twin Emperors kill non-legit.
I'm not exactly sure how it happened, but I managed to do something similar
to what Jider did today. I left every single Anubisath Guardian alive, and
I pulled Vek'nilash before they finished their entry event. I'm not sure
how it happened, but only Vek'nilash pulled. I have tried many times since
then, but have not been able to get it to work again.
@chukky1124 he had a friend any magicall /spell dmg too kill twins with him
and then. you solo ask him too leave becouse your gonna solo =S..or you
just use one of the 4 bugged textures with size increase and your in. there
are 2 ways before first boss so you dont even have too kill first boss too
get too c'thun. and other 2 past the first boss.
@WowhaxAndGlitches Taken from the description: "Once eaten Ouro would
perform the necessary task of porting me out and to increase DPS time on
the tentacles inside I changed races to Goblin for the Rocket Jump ability.
I also changed my spec to subtlety for shadowstep and finally leveled up
Engineering for Tazik Shocker (glove enchant)."
I've slightly changed your tactic for C'Thun and turned the fight into one
giant training dummy. You'll have to wait until C'Thun sucks you in for the
first time, and after Ouro ports you back out, you use Vanish to reset
Ouro. C'Thun however will think that you're still in his stomach and remain
in combat. watch?v=TS4hsrBfpsQ
with good timing i think he means that he vanishes when the bosses switch
places and then intercept the boss teleported to him before it could reset
making the other boss try to run to its original position and stay out of
combat while he could intercept and kill the first one. I think that should
be classed as a bug, yes.
to start with hes a liars as a rouge he dosnt get to heal himself for 4k
heals durin the entire Twins fight he had several othe lvl 85 toons there
if ya watch his name plate u know hes liaing and during the final battle
watch his health once again HE DIDNT solo anything hes just 1 more Lair
My biggest problem when fighting C'thun was that he refused to pull me into
his stomach so 80% of the fight I had 99 stacks of the debuff. As a DK this
isn't that big a deal, but since you run around with 3 fps in the end while
being stun-locked by tentacles it can prove to be a problem.
so explain how you only pulled 1 of the twins (aka good timing what does
this mean and how can you tell) or have fun being ticketed for
exploiting/hacks and blizz would love to see a video showing you exploiting
a boss however i believe the c'thun was a fair and smart kill
Ok. Im posting this cause i saw him solo PW in naxx lvl 80.. Im posting
this BEFORE watching the video. and reading comments. Soloing twin emps
huh. they heal like 50k a second if they are together i dont see 100k+ dps
happening lol. Time to hit play lol
@thevlaka Yeah i left that comment before i saw the video :) i was
interested as into how he did the pull and what not. I know all these
fights inside and out :P i was one of the very few who actually got to
clear naxx at lvl 60 back in the day :)
Public Test Realm.... Blizzard doesnt monitor the PTR nor do they keep up
with it and make sure everything is working right, Impressive C'thun kill,
but the Twins kill is a glitch and can't be replicated on a live server.
guys i need help im trying to solo it with my warrior and i have no idea
how this shit works when im in his stomach after 3-4 secs he instantly
kills me and thats actaully where my fcking prob is what can i do?
@Zivhayr I wasn't talking about twin emps, retard. You could easily bug
twin emps like that, but there's no way Ouro could teleport him out of
C'thun's stomach since he *doesn't have a damn teleport.*
@Zerkerefeia A) You can't easily split the twin emps, no one can but myself
and B) Most bosses and a good number of trash mobs will port you when you
try to evade them. This obviously includes Ouro.
@readelssj stop acting like boss internet gansta , and yes i didnt play
vanilla sory for the that :D and ok ur kinda right but the vid rocks anyway
:) and im not licking him i just like the vid
Also, it's actually possible now to solo the Twin Emperors as a rogue,
without using any reset techniques. You just have to outdamage their heal,
and outheal their damage. watch?v=aRb0oD2-8is
@MrArashnejad50 Well, there are many instances of level ?? (Boss) mobs
hostile to each other when NPCs help in encounters and such, but if you
mean instance boss encounters then yes.
@Nekratul as a rogue: how? i only saw a fury warrior with like 25k dps do
it, dont see how its possible as a rogue, i dont even understand how he bug
pulls the boss like this either
Nice, i was in aq 40 the other day, was the first for me in about 2 years,
not even done it once before that since TBC came. Anyway, we also got
C´thun down on first try, altho we were over 30 or something like that, one
wipe on viscidus since ppl didnt know u need to use frost damage at first,
twins was 4 wipes i think, we were 39( most 70s) when we got em down, and
even that was a VERY sloppy kill, Vek´lor was never at the rigth position,
but was still nice to raid it first time in like 2 yr
Best part is how if you changed the post-BC instances with all white, cubed
rooms, it would feel about the same. Just run through, kill trash, down
boss, farm Badges/Emblems, turn in for purple lettered pieces of pixel with
bigger numbers on them, repeat ad nauseum. So why pretend? Just put down
bosses with higher stats at the end of a long ass tunnel full of trash (or
not, whatever floats Bliz's boat), and rake in the cash from the millions
who'll still gobble that shit up.
No C'Thun was fun Pre TBC, actaully Ouro was harder cause of enrage at the
end, but the trash to C'Thun and Ouro that was hard shit, Obsidian
Nullifiers yeah great! We had AQ40 on farm when naxx was released, was
really fun back then i think, just the trash wasnt so interesting, and some
bosses where a pain in the ass, sartura, princess huhuran, vicidous, ouro,
pain pain pain :P
I remeber a couple weeks ago wotlk ofc. i went Aq20 for luls cuz its pro.
and.. the ammount of people with no skill anymore just cuz its 60 doesn't
meen you dont kite the end boss too the pillars no joke tank replys "what
does kite meen?!" some noobs really shouldn't play..
ok a hunter (yes they do have a use in wow) is spose 2 run in with nature
resistance gear to lessen the blow of the laser thingy, then he feigns
death and swaps to DPS gear (omg another use!??!?!). then the rest of the
group runs in and starts doing w/e they do.
Ok, I've played for four years now, and i can say this much, they fucked up
Naxx, in WotLK. :( But, Eye of Eternity aka Malygos was the best figth
since vannila wow :) So if they can do this on Uldur i'll be pleased untill
the end of wow
raids back then actaully took a week to clear and were designed with that
in mind, but with blizz taking wow towards casual, most raids can be
cleared in a night, heck all 3 raids of wrath can be cleared in a night ,
its a shame really
AQ 40 is a looong dungeon, I'd say even longer then black temple. My guild
tried AQ40 at lv80, but by the time we got up to the twin emporers, most
were leaving or going to bed, so we all disbanded and never got to C'Thun.
Ya at 70 ide say the twins are harder just because the caster twin has a
tendincy of running into the middle out of his corner and healing a few
times when the tank dosnt know how to keep him in one spot
"Level 70 Ahn'qiraj pug kills C'thun in one attempt" lol... I soloed
wailing caverns at 80, so what? Even now, with 40 60s it will be easy,
classes are boosted, but in pre-bc, it had to be insanly hard.
we downed him yesterday with 8 men........really an easy fight with guys on
80....but if i remember wow classic fighting him with 40 people , this
encounter was a bitch.especially the beginning ^^
i have downed him, yea it is quite insane with all the tentacles but if all
know what to do it is easy. The fight at normal diff takes about 13 mins.
C'thun on lv 60 took around 20 min..
i killed him last night in a pug i don't know why people think hes so hard
i thought he was pretty easy it just takes cooperation and the ability to
listen to the raid leaders orders
dunno why but blizz used loads of stuff from classic wow in wotlk like
onyxia(head gear) t7 looks like t3 yogg-saron looks an awful like
c`thun.... and there are more things... :D
oh my god you have downs. because... read the title, its a pug, full of
retards, and first attempt. thats pro. its still actually hard, just like
pug sunwell is at 80
Never will something be like Pre bc, Ulduar is just gonna be another
shitfaced easy instance after 2 days worth of work on it, Instead of weeks
of wiping >.>
