Who said anything about race. Dominican Republic is a diverse island jut like haiti is. I didn't say anything about race but pride is a huge thing. Many of the islands have an identity of WHaT they consider themselves as. Many islands have preserved their african roots and others love their European roots. How can you say race isn't a topic in the DR when your leader killed millions of Haitians because of their african identity. I would say identity is the subject not race.

And I met some Dominican Republicans in Aruba and they were friendly, and we talked to this tourist who visited, and she also said they are friendly. IDK why so many people hate Dominican Republic people. And the geographic diversity of that country is just incredible. It has pine forests and gets snow. And it's in the Caribbean. I would love that place. Though the country has a bad reputation as being a high crime area. But I think it's still safer than Jamaica and Trinidad.

The first people shown in this documentary are Haitians living in a type of shanty settlement called a "Batey", they're an extreme fringe minority. For example, this would be like showing the absolute worst ghettos of the USA, or some poor Indian reservation and trying to present that as typical of the country.
