My Two Cents - Benjamin Trail NP Review (.177 caliber)
And now for something completely different: A review of the Benjamin Trail NP .177 caliber pellet pistol. Overall, it's a decent pellet pistol for the money (less than ...
In the air gun forums they recommend sliding the rear sight all the way
forward along the dovetail and this makes it so that you don't have to cut
up your sight.
what did you use to cut the front sight off and how much did you cut off?
I have an idea but don't want to cut too much. my shots are consistently
low and that's with the rear sight elevated at its highest point to try and
raise the shot groups. so I'm going to follow your example which I was
already considering. I'm thinkin' dremel work should do it. is that what
you used?
+darkwriter77 ossum....what i thought! ok, gonna do some work on it. i also thought about just changing my aimpoint where instead of putting the rear and front sight dots in one line, i may just align it so the front sight is above the two rear sight dots creating a connected triangle. if that doesn't work, mr dremel gets the call to duty. thanx for responding and again, thanx for sharing your experience with the vid!!! i like my np. and i understand about it's just an inexpensive air pistol, not a webley or even a baikali 46m, i love that it's under $100. and i have many many 1911s and cc weapons but this sure makes it fun to just plink inside my house!! gotta love it!! i even bought a couple of pellet pens and they work great! hey thanx for taking the time to provide your insights!!!!
+nateroo Yep, just used a Dremel with a cutoff wheel. I just cut the fiber optic sight portion off right underneath its mounting point. Seemed to leave exactly the right amount of front sight left to correct the issue. Then after a couple of coats of white paint followed by a couple more of florescent orange, the remaining front sight post is every bit as good as (or better than) the original fiber optic. Bear in mind that this is just a $65 air pistol, not a $500 firearm. If you booger it up by cutting too much, at least it's not a super-expensive mistake (and you can always just tack on a red dot sight instead).
thanks for posting this. I have had problems with mine. The front sight is
cockeyed to begin with...not so much that I cant use a little Kentucky
Windage to compensate. But Im glad someone else agrees that the front sight
is just way too high for the adjustments that can be done to the rear
sight. The other problem I have is that the pistol cannot even be cocked
without breaking it open over your knee. Also before cocking the pistol
rattles...the guide rod moves side to side...Is this normal?
As John, I'd like to thank you, too! This is in fact the only post on the net where I found this problem raised that I also face. I solved my issue with bending the metal of the rear sight but still not perfect. Maybe the pistols themselves shoot higher or lower depending on the exact piece. And that is why not all face the issue and mine I was almost able to fine tune... ?Thanks from Poland :)
Haven't had that problem with mine. Seems pretty solid all of the time. As far as cocking it, I've never had to use my knee, I just give the barrel a bit of a tap with my palm to start the break-open, then grasp it and crank it fully open until it clicks into fully-cocked position. Then again, whenever I'm shooting it, I pretty much leave the cocking assist device attached full-time and only take it off for storage purposes, so that helps add some leverage.

Plitvice are one of my favourite places in the world. But regarding to the
founadion, National Park High Tatras in Slovakia were founed earlier...
This doesn;t diminish the beauty of this edenly place ...
The video fails, or perhaps avoids, showing he extensive wooden walkways
that meander through the park and make you part of the wonderful scenes
shown in the video, except in the very last scene.
"ju mast kam to kroejša...ju mast trast us" :))) really, Plitvice are
beautiful, in every season, come and visit, you won't regret ;) have a nice
day and greetings from Croatia...
+Locky McCulloch Ya and using AA batts puts out the same voltage so it could have worked if it fit properly. To get cheaper I finally found some on ebay "buy it now" damaged EOS 3 and 1D bodies becasue some people don't know the chargers are work a bit. You have to search often and buy quick when they come up. Also auctions go for less then buy it now's too.
+Locky McCulloch No sucks... I tried to hack up a tray but they don't work becasue the 1D mki body has some sort of pin or something and it didn't press it to tell the camera what was powering it or something. I don't quite remember now but sadly it didn't work...
