Dilwale Breaks Star Wars Record In Gulf; All Time Highest Bollywood Film With 65 Crore
About the Show: ETC Bollywood Business covers the latest developments in the film industry including new releases, box-office collections, the emerging trends, ...
First weekend scores proves ntn for dilwale. the bigger the star the bigger
the marketing the bigger the collection on first weekend. overtime it will
fizz out and no one will even remember dilwale. On the other hand bajirao
was a career changing movie for ranveer. Not being a huge star and yet
earning better with each passing day itself prooves that its a much better
movie which people will remember for quiet some time.
I bet when people saw this moment in the film for the first time, they
thought the film frame was actually melting and stopping the show, but
laughing hard when they realize that was part of the film for comic effect.
People who disliked the video, but like Deepika Padukone:
"She's an actor, she's just doing her job. She's not the one to be blamed.
The director and writer should be blamed."
-Sure. Just the way the director and writer would get praised if the video
hadn't failed, right? Wrong. Deepika would be given credit and she would
take it with open arms. Was the writer even present at the press launch?
She was part of it, she should be blamed. And so should the director and
writer and other 98 women.
"It started a conversation. Give credit to her."
-No, it did not start a conversation. It started a controversy. Even Baba
Ramdev and politicians say outrageously stupid things and start a
"conversation".
"It has been misunderstood. It is talking about choices, not encouraging
adultery and male-bashing"
-This is why actresses and pseudo-feminists should keep out of matters that
they understand very little about? Feminism became a negative word (thanks
to women who have misused opportunities which were supposed to uplift them)
a long time ago. A LOT of men don't identify with it and there is a HUGE
debate over what it truly is. There are ACTUAL gender-biased laws in India.
And many men have become targets of false accusations and it is becoming
increasingly frustrating for them. So, WE didn't misunderstand the video.
SHE (and others) misunderstood our society and the dynamics of the ground
realities of gender equality. And this is what is annoying. She became a
spokesperson for a movement she understands very LITTLE about.
"It empowers women. "
-Where is the empowerment? I have been given the same privileges asy
brother. I don't need empowerment to have sex. Outside, within, before,
after marriage. My parents have taken care of my education and all other
basic rights. I've been asked to dress appropriately in college and at
home, but it's only to save me from the prying eyes of specific kind of
men. I don't mind. I don't care really. And if I do, I'll wear what I like
and make that clear to them. There's no need to be overly aggressive about
things like sex, clothing etc., You have been offered food, clothing,
education, shelter - something no gender of the poor section of the society
has.
Think about it, people. If you had as much money as these people did, would
you make a video to empower women or fund a girl child's education? That
will determine your reaction to such viral videos. It seems like the
easiest way out - want to empower women, make a video and earn the profit
from their gullibility. Nobody cares about your empowerment except you.
Nobody can empower you except you.
If you have free time in your hands, go teach somebody about subatomic
particles or what DNA really is or where they can get education. Internet
seems like the only place to help somebody.
No actor or actress has the time to read about the history of how the two
genders were treated, are treated or the real problems men and women face
or the laws that need to be changed. All this requires work outside of
their expertise. Stop expecting actors and actresses to teach you what is
right and wrong. Research yourself.
+Mercyritz13 I couldn't agree more. The biggest problem with this country is that people don't know who to idolize. First off, the video is in English, so I have no idea how you thought to spread your so called 'empowerment' message to the whole country.Secondly, 70% approx. women are from rural areas and their struggles are for education, self-identity, right to get married at their liberty, poverty etc. When did coming home late, sleeping around or wearing obscene clothes became issues for this country's women. Thirdly, the platform they choose is Internet, do you think all the people have Internet in this country? Ironically, who is endorsing women empowerment, the very people who have got everything in their life, more than freedom, money, etc. you name it. This is all for publicity and money. This was made by Vogue magazine, remember a similar kind of campaign was run by Dove, which led to earn profit in billion.
+Sakina Sehgal Scientific study liberates your mind. If you don't see the importance of science or education, then nobody can help you. Not the history of laws, but the history of gender inequality and the laws that promote this. You're waiting for Deepika to tell you that you should wear what you want? Feminism and Women Empowerment have been discussed time and again, there's nothing new about what she said except of course the objectionable parts. Did you just dismiss the false accusations point? Lol, you clearly have no idea about anything beyond clothes and sex. More than 50% rape cases in Delhi were false accusations. Only a small percentage of those accused for dowry end up in conviction. So many are false. The man is considered guilty until proven innocent. They put you (and your family) behind bars as soon as an FIR is registered. Men have committed suicide over this. Did you just justify false accusations cases with rape? That just shows how stupid you are. Deepika Padukone, I request you to explain to her that gender biased laws cannot be justified by rape. She doesn't seem to want to use her own mind. She only listens to you. Because people work hard and don't have all day to talk about clothes and sex. We're middle class people. So, if there's a cause that needs to be supported - it is poverty and evils of poverty. Did you not see the documentary India's Daughter. The more you educate people, they'll have something productive to do rather than drink, smoke and rape someone in this high. And how can you blatantly ignore what women and men from poor sections of the society go through and pay attention to some need to your right to clothes and sex? And they agreed to do this through Vogue? The fashion magazine that tells women to look good by doing this and that. Like Queen? Here's what Kangana said about sexism: I don't get why actresses complain about gender and wage inequality. If you're not being paid enough, don't do the film. Ask for what's yours. "That's what staying true to your principles mean. Also, it's not that they don't get paid, but a female centric movie doesn't do well at the box office. You can't pay someone as much as Shah Rukh Khan who doesn't bring in the kind of money SRK would get. This is what all celebrities have to say about wage equality. Empowerment is for those who can't fight for themselves. Actresses don't need empowerment. And no, actors also get asked just as much about marriage as actresses do. That comes with being from the film industry. Only the media asks such questions and they do so to get paid by their magazine or newspaper. Because people want to read about the things that goes off screen. You don't see the importance of History, Science or Education. All you seem to care about is sex and clothes and marriage. Men may get to wear what they like and go where they like at night and be more open about their sexuality, but that doesn't mean they don't have problems. They have to work hard in their job for their family. They have to be strong and masculine all the time. They can't cry or express any emotions without being asked to shut up and be a man. This is why it is important to understand things and not make sweeping statements.
+Mercyritz13 you understand feminism no better than you think you do if you made this comment, so please, stop preaching. no where in the video was there any male bashing to be found, men are just making it about themselves, as usual. feminism means gender equality, plain and simple. that's not to be found in india, men will always be given more freedom to do certain things compared to women, simply because of their gender. of course most men won't identify with it, because most of them simply don't want women having the kind of freedom they have, that is not the problem with the overall feminist problem, that's the problem with men. oh big whoop some guys get falsely accused, as if there isn't a double amount of females who get raped everyday and don't get justice and the rapist is allowed to be free???? lmao you're probably just a salty guy, get out.
+Mercyritz13 oh stfu, just because you don't need empowerment, doesn't mean every other female doesn't either. good for you that you're grateful for having a roof over your head and food on your table, doesn't mean you can't want other things. this isn't a competition and no one denied that there's people out there who need empowerment more, like people in poverty, but it's not a competition. and no, it opened up a conversation between those who actually understood the point of the video besides just hating on her for the sex part, it only started a controversy within the group of idiots who are narrow minded. you clearly seem to have some free time on your hands, why'd you write this comment that's as long as an essay instead of going out and educating someone on science lmao? You don't need to give someone a chemistry lesson to empower them are you kidding me. you don't need to know history on gender laws to make this video omfg what the hell are you even saying???? sexism in the indian community is very very real, doesn't matter if you're poor or a rich actress. even actresses are expected to get married at an age where they aren't too young or too old, whereas no one cares at what age men get married or if they get married at all. but a rich and successful actress will be considered undesirable if she doesn't get married sooner or later, even if she personally just doesn't wanna get married. they shouldn't date but no one really gives a crap if ranbir kapoor is constantly dating or cheating on women. they get paid way less than men even if they can make a movie like queen or kahaani which rides completely on the female character. she doesn't need to take a history class to tell women it's ok to wear what they want, how dense are you???
I don't understand, if someone has a problem with a video why aren't they
raising questions to the director rather than the actor? Homi Adajania made
the video, yet everyone's blaming Deepika like it was her idea. Plus there
were a million other women in the video and no one's bothering them. The
viewers of the video are human beings not mindless animals, they can make
their own decisions and can choose to reject what it says. Deepika is not a
social worker and hasn't taken a theka to solve society's problems, let her
be.
+Akshay Pande u r d person who spoke d truth i think...because it was not her concept......although she agreed and did...she is also responsible...but all do react to deepika like ONLY she is responsible.KUDOS TO DEEPIKA for not escaping from the mistake that she did............i dont think she s faking............
Is this not the same Deepika who after the 'Lovely' song video came out,
said she regretted doing it because she thought it was vulgar? All I can
say Deepika is actions speak louder than words!
Dint expected this from @Film Companion .... just putting out a bit from
the interview , where you know the level of outrage on mychoice video ... u
r giving space to hate a star whoz image already affected by it , iam not a
fan of deepika , but of film companion .... a really shit strtrgy to jst
bring curiosity .... i might unsubscribe
+aa tamu You might have thought I was defending FC but believe me buddy I hate Anupama to the core. She is the biggest brown nose I've ever seen. I have no expectation from her to behave, all in all she is a dump.
To be honest, Film Companion didn't have choice because logically speaking Deepika couldn't come up with any justifying excuse to send out the wicked message to the world and for that matter, she herself is an example of wickedness.
A Short Silent Film - Silence Breaks
This is my first ever silent film and i was excited to experience something new as a videographer, Hope you all enjoy my work Directed by Jennifer Cortez and ...
A small "documentary" I created around the subject of hate crime. I started talked talking to a few of my friends about my video "Wish I Had Said Something'" their ...
Bro this stuff gets me so depressed, hopeless and upset, i know it's
reality, but i stopped watching the news and disconnected myself from
reality for the greater good, otherwise i'd be depressed all day and upset,
what do you do to keep yourself strong during times like these? and what
perspective do you have on the world and its problems?
+WHY "what do you do to keep yourself strong during times like these?" -- Keep fighting, make a positive change so our future people don't live in a world of destruction and pain, were mostly responsible for the shit we face now.
+Tim Smith If it's natural why aren't you killing animals yourself, with your own hands and teeth. We are herbivores. When we see an animal, We see a living feeling being, not food. The very fact that you cook and season meat tells you that you are a fake omnivore, because eating it raw like every other omnivore makes us sick. Plus we develop atherosclerosis, which only herbivores can get. Go watch some footage from a slaughterhouse and tell me it is natural, and fair, and humane, to do what we do to that many animals.
+Samuel Wasnak I am not taking it lightly. I am thoroughly against any form of hate crime. But that is why I don't eat meat. No creature should have to suffer or die because I believe I am have the right to make them suffer, because I believe I am of a higher status than them. This extends not only through race, religion, sex, sexuality, or disability, but species to.
