We had some snow here in Ashland one morning and when I arrived at the bandshell where I teach (all weather, all year 'round), I found my student and friend ...
very nice gene : ) thanks for sharing, as a shaman i have one martial art
student (male), i generally only train high level females to become dream
walkers in the non physical world, but he seems worth my interested if he
can pass the first four years of tests, my soul tells me in the future he
will reunite shamanism and martial arts (physical and non physical (or
male/female power and empowerment) of his students in the future, he is
only 30 now and has 15 years of practice behind him and is able to enter
the scorpion realms already as a fighter for the light. : ) we dream
walkers can prevent darkness here, days before in pre manifested energy
across the veil. You might enjoy some of my videos, as we are the balance
keepers (gatekeepers in the world its called)
This was only a year or so into our playing as a duo. Vic had just started
playing mandolin. We made a few more CD's after this one. Vic's mandolin
playing got significantly better. And the mando itself was really cool. An
old Martin that was his grandfather's. Thanks!
Lettuce tends to get bitter and bolt in warm weather. Cilantro will bolt in
warm weather. Broccoli, cauliflower and Brussels sprouts I believe are also
cool weather crops. I LOVE spinach and lettuce but it isn't worth growing
here in the spring because sometimes it feels like it goes from winter
straight into summer with only a couple of weeks of spring-like weather. I
have had success planting them in the fall... the spinach and cilantro
overwintered here in zone 7.
broccoli hates heat. I have never successfully grown broccoli - it always
bolts before I get anything from it. Brussel sprouts came up in my garden
this spring from some seeds I dropped back in the fall. .... then it
bolted. I have learned that thyme and sage do well in the cold. it isn't
that they don't do well in the heat, I just notice that they do do well in
the cold. peas get tired of the heat too. but they stick around for a
little bit anyway. ~Amanda
Here in Las Vegas, I don't plant leafy greens in spring or summer. It's
just too hot. I grow tomatoes, peppers, eggplant, corn, zucchini,
cucumbers, basil, marigolds, and various squash. then around august I like
to plant out my leafy greens and a new batch of herbs like cilantro and
parsley, and it will last all winter long until it starts getting warm
again around April.
As an organic gardener most my life, I have learned it is difficult to grow
lots of veg in the summer. I live in central Fl, and cooked my squash
accidently outside...wilted my lettuces and yes destroyed spinach. Summer
in the southern areas are hard to grow many veg even under a huge oak
tree-they just wilt!
there 2 heat tolerant verities malabar and new zealand which can be grown
in the warmer months ive had semi success with monstrueux de viroflay
spinach in a 1/2 sun/shade area in my raised bed
Here in Florida I am trying to grow collards and swiss chard in the warm
weather. I want to have the strong nutrients from these leafy greens for my
green smoothies.
