@iml109 Oh I feel so bad for you the way you phrased your comment! I
understand, because fresh herbs make such a huge difference in the quality
of food you make. First: Is hubby your boss or father? I'm assuming "no" so
don't you have as much say as him about what goes on in your house? Second:
What specifically is hubby worried about? Water under the pots? Maybe
promise to put the herb pots on a tray? In other words, talk to him about
his SPECIFIC concerns about the plants. Fixable!
LOL. I have a suggestion. Why don't you just name this stew after Gene
Simmons? Not that either of them are ugly but one of your subs made a
comment that had a quote " Ugly never tasted this good". LOL That just
seems like a typical Gene Simmons or even Shannon response to someone who
would call him or his stew ugly. Hell, I may even use that should someone
call me ugly. Thanks for everything and good luck on the foodnet contest. (
I'm sure you will do just fine) Johnny
I made this, and it turned out great! My brother has a garden, and he
always gives me a bunch of zucchini and stuff. So, since I had extra
veggies to use, I added some jalapenos, yellow squash, and carrots. The
hardest part was finding the real kind of fatty-spicy sausage at my
supermarket. Everything there was low-fat plain turkey, chicken, and
tofu... TRUE! XD But, anyway thanks for all your great recipes; I think I
may be learning to cook! :)
Whoa, this sounds outstanding! I wouldn't simmer zucchini for an hour, it
would be too mushy for me (personal preference). Otherwise I would love
this! Maybe some green beans, mushrooms and any thing else hanging around
in the fridge could be added. To make it prettier you could always add a
smattering of green/red/yellow bell diced bell peppers to the top of the
bowl along with fresh basil. It would be pretty and taste good too.
Chef John and everyone else, I've been voting everyday for you but the last
couple of times I see two options on voting one on the video which contains
: food network challenge vote now along with Samsung advertising, my
question is which one do we click the one on top or the one on the bottom.
I've been clicking on both but i just want to clear things up just in case
someone else is just doing one
@cjucoder now I don't know why you replied the way you did, but what is it
to you? I guess the world gotta have mean people like you. perhaps you come
from a culture where there is no respect for your spouse? nvm, don't reply
that. whichever it is, my comment were made in jest as an opening to my
questions. you can choose to not answer them if it irks you that much.
@iml109 I apologize. When I read my comment back it sounded much more mean
spirited than I intended. I truly meant to give words of encouragement
because I was worried that you were being bullied by your spouse (it does
happen!) and I meant to be positive not mean. Again, I apologize, I didn't
recognize you were jesting and I phrased that comment poorly.
dear chef john, i stole your apple pie and pie crust recipe. please forgive
me. im a vegetarian and though people love the food i make (oh baby you
want my mac and cheese recipe), i really wish i was better at making rice
dishes, could you please teach me to make a mushroom risoto? ill give u my
mac n cheese recipe!!!
Please Mr. Youtube tell me who these people are who DON'T like these
videos and therefore rate them down. I assume these are not NORMAL people,
but would dearly love to know what their ID's are, also for what strange
reasons they do this. Maybe they are some form of 'food gremlin' or
something....
hey chef John. i really like your videos. they are very entertaining. i
also voted for you for the next food network star. wish you luck! i was
also wondering if you can grant my food wish, which is how to make peking
duck ... its a chinese dish, i think it will be a fun challenge...thanks !
hahaha stocky and balding... come to think of it, you'd actually complement
rachel ray or martha stewart chef. but i think you're better with the
company of andrew zimmern (now thats an awesome combination!!!) or anthony
bourdain. i love your sense of humor chef. keep it up.
This reminds me a lot of the Sancocho stew that my family normally makes.
Looks about the same but veerrrryyyy delicious! I would like to add,
though, that the taste is millions times better in the winter but that's
because my family usually makes stews like nuclear hot.
chef john i noticed alot of comments regarding not eating tortured animals
and i can honestly say i have eaten alot of meat and have never been able
to taste whether the animal was tortured, talked to badly or teased... maybe
its just me. Thanks for the recipe!
That looks really good. I think that some okra would be nice in this one
too! But since I am the only one in my house who likes it, I will just have
to dream about it. Congrats on getting picked for the Food Network
audition. Hope you do great! Noreen
@EntertainMeTV What do you think the broth did? All the goodness dissolves
into the stew as it simmers. The bottom of the pot will be completely
clean. And, if you call me silly again, I'll ban you for 2 years. No, make
that 3 years.
Me too. I only buy cruelty-free products. No animal testing. The food
tastes better if the animals are not torture for their meat, skin, or fur.
But we still need protein in our diet. So I eat fish only.
do you have a vegetarian recipe without garlic or onion? because i really
want to make something for my grandma but she is a very strict vegetarian.
she cannot eat any meat, garlic or onion. please?
When I'm looking for a recipe, I always come to you! I tried your chicken
Marsala recipe and it has been a favorite of my husband! Thank you SO much
for posting these videos!
every time you add someting spicy to your dishes, I die a little inside.
Because I want to know how spicy food tastes like...without having fatal
allergic reactions...
I am glad that you are using vegetable stock instead of chicken stock .
Corporate food America employs brutal, tortuous methods of raising and
killing chickens.
The stew looks kinda earthy, which I don't think is very ugly. I don't
think it's beautiful, but I think it deserves some credit.

Thank you for a wonderful recipe. I am always looking for healthy ways to
cook zucchini. I never would have thought the tuna would go with this dish
but it does wonderfully. I had to use tomato sauce, seeing that I cook for
only one, or two, so it came out a little soupy. Didn't hurt it a bit.
Parmesan is a little expensive here so used 2% cheddar shredded. That was
also good. The rest I used your instructions exactly and am glad that I
did. I am still thinking how good this dish tasted.
thank you very much i love tuna with pasta , i have some questions , first
the tuna always seems to melt and not give any meat texture is there a way
to make it more present in the sauce other than putting lots , maybe put
half the tuna in beginning and half just before eating ? second question ,
what can i use instead of squash which i hate ?
I've been watching your videos since the start, and it seems lately you've
lost your thunder. Not so much with recipes but with YOU. There's very
little passion in your voice and presentation lately. Just some honest and
hopefully constructive critism from a subscriber.
I'm eating this dish right this very second, and it tastes great!! I'm
making some of your simple recipes, before I build up to more impressive
things. But this will definitely be a reciple I make on a regular basis.
Very easy and tasty.
Ooh, I want to make that! I will hvae a guest for dinner next week, so I
can make it then~ I'm wondering though... What is marinera sauce? I'm from
holland, so i'm not familliar with english product names...
when he sprinkled the parmesan cheese on it at the end, it looked like
little worms crawling around, lol xD i know its not but it just looked like
the cheese was movin a bit. haha
I am a food fanatic too I love eatinggggg delicious and mostly homemade
food..thanks for mom for taught me to cook and i love to try new recipe...
thanks for your chanel!!!!
I always watch 100% of your videos, even if I don't like what you're
putting in them (hate pasta, hate tuna) because they're always interesting
and presented very well. gj.
It is inspiring! I love zucchini and am glad to know about a yummy, easy
way to accomodate it. I will make that! And I will probably top it with
pecorino or manchego.
my food wish is to be a close family friend so i can eat everything that
you make....every time i see ur vids it reminds me why i love foood soooo
much!!
My mother won't anything with tuna other than tuna salad, and tuna
casserole. I try and try to get her to eat tuna other ways, but she's
stubborn, LOL.
+sweetgirl93p aw, thank you! And welcome to my challenge! ;) Btw, sorry for the latest reply ever, had major PC problems after upgrading to Windows 10..
Wonderful video Ruta & congratulations on your 90th Day. You look very
pretty in the traditional attire & its really nice that you are respectful
of their culture. Have a great day :)
+marie Savino I have to admit (as strange as it will sound) - I love wearing a scarf in winter here! I'm from a very cold country where we have to wear something on our head in winter and that something usually was a simple hat. Which, let's be honest, is not very appealing. However when you wear a scarf instead you turn into this super womanly and graceful creature - I just LOVE the look!

+jiho lee 2006. I like the phones that came out from 2005-2010...don't get me wrong, I love my iPhone, but T-Mobile was famous for Nokia phones, and I'm SO glad they weren't using Verizon Wireless phones...they live in the city, not BFE country!
