Hi again Jaimie... YUMMMMMMMMMMMMY...this I want to try...you make it look
sooooooooo easy... Only are you in a test kitchen ~~ or is this your own
kitchen...you seem to be making meat and dairy dishes on the same counter
(hot and cold recipes) and the same top oven (even though there is a double
oven)... O.K. I know you can self clean the oven ~ but the counters should
be separate ones for meat and dairy... Just wondering...I am sure you are
doing everything right... Surie
Just a thought...as far as the oven goes, at least in this episode, her
oven didn't appear to be on. I would guess she just put the cold ziti in
the cold oven, which was off, so people can see how to do it and then took
it out right after?
I have a question, is it okay in kosher cooking to cook vegetables with
diary (e.g. eggs or milk, butter) as long as you don't have meat in it?
Also, does seafood not get cooked together with diary as well?? I know
diary and meat (lamb, chicken, beef) can't be cooked together from what my
friend who is Orthodox Jewish told me. I want to know because I like
cooking for all my friends and I like respecting people's religions. P.S.
I'm not Jewish, so I don't know well how Kosher works.

Cooking is a bit more than just making something tasty. Don't use a peeler
to peel potatoes and clean out the eyes. Also never heat oil to 425, most
oils will not stand that temperature. If it doesn't work at lower temp,
then the recipe is no good.
Grapeseed oil can stand high heat and is best for this dosh & frying.

I laughed so hard when I heard about your sister-in-law's cholent
experience. Please interview her and/or post a video telling the story in
full with details of how people reacted and she recovered in middle of
shabbat. Did people just eat it anyway? So helpful to hear about these
oh-so-common and oh-so-human experiences. And so good to laugh so hard.
Thanks!
+towakeup LOL!!!!!!!!! YAY!!! I just told her how hard you laughed at her expense. She is shy and likes to stay behind the scenes -- she actually helps me on set with most of my video shoots and some of my live events as well. So to follow up: no they didn't eat it bc we don't mix fish and meat in the same recipe or even at the same course so she was left with not a lot of food for a lot of people but everyone had a good laugh.
