I normally like R & B but woke up with my TV on PBS and heard Sarah singing
this song and wow! Amazing, such peace and beauty this song emotes. I'm her
oddest fan!
I discovered Sarah about 6 months ago while watching PBS' Transatlantic
Sessions. She performed Annabelle Lee with a large group of other
fantasticly talented musicians. Now I have a playlist with at least 50 of
Sarah's songs on it - I listen to it when I go to bed, and again during the
day... I have been playing Sarha Jarosz' music A LOT over the past 6
months! I hope she comes around NC again one day so I can go see her
perform live. I can not say enough good stuff about this musical genius.
She is a great talent and I believe she is going to go very far as an
artist. I have put all of her albums (CD's) on my Christmas list for this
year! :)
Always go for your true passion! Mine is writing poetry! I'm not into sports, but that is a very healthy thing to do! I'm jealous that you live in Sarah's home town... you may get a chance to meet her, if you haven't already! I would love to just be able to tell her how much I have enjoyed her music and how I think she is one of the most talented musical artists that I have ever heard... and I am VERY much into music, so that is really saying something! I am 56 years old, and that is a long period of time to accrue favorite musicians! :)
+Beverly Krebs Yes her parents were teachers at my school. I know she started playing music and singing at a young age. Wimberley, TX produces a good amount of musicians and actors. It's a cool little town. :)
How exciting! Do you know her or her family? I wonder at what age she showed interest in singing and stringed instruments! I knew she was from Texas originally, and I think she moved to New York at some point. Thank you for commenting on my post!

Apparently, he has to wait for the go-ahead from the group that made the original song, The Heavy, before he can release it. Hope it comes soon, it's fucking genius
Licensing the lyrics. Roughly, when obtaining song rights there are both songwriting rights (lyrics) and actual rights to the master recording of the tune. So you can buy the licensing to use the lyrics but not the actual track it's from.

The track is absolutely wonderful. The video is routine and disappointing, but I have very high expectations of every facet of all things Ninja Tune. It's a great thing to be consistently wowed to the point of spoiled.
