If Hot Topic doesn't do goth anymore, then how come I still see goth clothing and makeup there? Is this state/region specific?

If you go to hot topic in Texas they have half the store gothic, punk, emo clothes and the other half be the latest trends and super hero stuff... sadly it's the only "dark store" in my small town and is really expensive so I cant buy stuff from there too often

Im glad I found this video. I have not been to Hot Topic in forever, but I went a couple times within the past month just for the heck of it & my oh my have they changed drastically since I was a teenager (back in the early Millennium, im talking 03-04 haha). I have certainly noticed a lack of goth stuff as well as certain brands I was fond of (Tripp for example)...it just makes me sad because I feel that is what made Hot Topic be Hot Topic, and it was a place I could go to to embrace 'my dark side' if you will. It makes me sad and it really disappoints me with the changes. It makes it less exciting to go there and it's like I have nothing to look forward to. (but if anyone likes the changes and shops there now, I don't knock you for doing it, im just ranting away why I no longer gravitate to this store how I once used to ages ago..) Anyway, I cannot get over how EVERYTHING is so main stream nowadays, and how HT practically CATERS to it! For gods sake I saw a Justin Beiber shirt in there and they sell Disney Princess stuff (not that I have a problem with that, but you know what I mean..) and they have all these random cartoon show memorabla in there...and, I have also noticed that there are things in there that are mainstream that should not be (I mean why does literally every type of thing in this world that is produced need to be forced into being popular and the next "in" thing!?) For example, that Ouija Board movie, I have no problem with people who use them (I own one myself) but come on now...just..why????? It made me so blahhh with all the mainstream stuff that I almost walked out without buying anything (and HT is a good 1 hr- 1 hr 30 min based on traffic from me..) until EURIKA I stumbled across a classic batman themed pocketbook, and a couple tops that were in the style that has become the minority within the HT theme & they were in my size, which is always a plus for me when I buy something! Because of how much HT has changed within the years, I may not go there so often, and if I do my chances of buying something are less likely to happen for the reasons above. So yeah...there is my urber long rant, hope any bored youtuber has enjoyed it.
