I actually like this version SO MUCH better, and I liked the original a
lot. Fascinating. Removing jai guru deva om with NOTHING is perfect.
D. Bowie is a goddamn genius.
Across the Universe Soundtrack Disk 2 Track 6 Let me take you down 'Cause I'm going to Strawberry Fields Nothing is real and nothing to get hung about ...
@KatUndMause ? Actually, because LSD is a hallucinogen it would tend to
make most things written while under their influence trippy and nonsensical
*case in point "I am the Walrus"* Things may appear clear to the listener
or the writer while under the drug's influence but those who are sober
products of LSD use tend to be confusing and hard to understand. But
paradoxically the message in Strawberry Fields is quite clear, unlike some
of the other songs that Lennon wrote while high on acid.
@Pacoandcheetoh So Just because he was impressed that they made such an
amazing song while under the effects of LSD you consider him to be an
idiot? Just because a person isn't familiar with the affects of a Schedual
1 illicit substance doesn't make them and idiot at all, shame on you man
for spreading hate in the comments of such an amazing song.
@murpj5 Only cause I've taken a course on Ethnobotany, part of which
focused on mind altering substances. One of which was ergot, the fungus
that LSD is derived from. And ya, it's an awesome song.
@amranit1 Why? LSD doesn't hinder creative capabilities in the slightest,
if anything, it expanded their outlook. The upon being sober, they
fixed/edited it to have it make more sense.
"Always, no, sometimes, think it's me. But you know I know when it's a
dream. I think, er, no I mean, er yes, but it's all so wrong, that is I
think I disagree." I love that part.
