You said we will be discussing some other features about VHD. I have
subscribed but haven't seen anymore videos about connecting vhd's to other
computers and booting them from there and differencing disks etc. I liked
this video, let me know if you're creating more on this topic soon. Looking
forward to your reply. Thanks!
Did you look at the whole video? The end walks through creating a VHD,
installing Windows 7 on the VHD and watching it boot...from the VHD. Using
Bcdedit is only necessary if you are configuring multi-boot options or
changing the boot config of an already installed OS, it's not needed when
doing a clean install on a VHD.
@softwareScout There's no "image" being used here really, the VHD was
created before installation and the OS was installed directly onto it.
Also, there's a C: and D: drive because the OS sees two partitions, the
physical partition, D: in this case, and the mounted VHD which is the C:
drive.
thanks. Question. When you created the VHD, where was the image pulled
from? And, to where did the image store itself for later use (if different
than original location)? Also, what is the purpose of creating the D: drive
for access to the VHD? For making changes for later use, or?
