lol. We actually do have a guide. The guide I will be providing here is for the 4.4 update, but it's the same process for Lollipop. All you need to do is locate the factory image and apply the same procedure. Chrome Beta for Android has Amazing Tab Management
Finally, Google has released a version of its desktop browser for Android phones. That means you get tab, bookmark, and password synchronization, plus a ...
Chrome for android is great! YouTube videos don't work on the desktop site
any more so you're stuck with the mobile site (sorry music listeners) or
the yt app. It also has an intuitive feature where if you leave a tab it
unloads the page, which is great for listening to music, filling in forms
and keeping sessions active. Of course mobile device users can't multitask
and can download data over and over again without waiting or getting a huge
bill.
my problem with this is I use last pass and xmarks for password/bookmark
management so I have the sync passwords/bookmarks functions unchecked in
chrome because it interferes with xmark syncing. Also desktop chrome syncs
your tabs and preferences whether your main computer is on or not. This is
great though and so glad google is doing this. Looking forward to doing
more browsing on my portable devices with Chrome and less at the desk.
neat browser for powerfull phones, you nailed it, Brandon! In fact its
slowing down my Nexus S alot!! Switching tabs through swiping isn't as
smooth as its on the Galaxy Nexus. In addition to that drawback, the tab
sync with my Desktop doesnt work. Maybe thats because I've opened more
thatn 15 tabs on the desktop. Overall awesome browser! Really looking
forward to get it as a final product!
@Revel1011 This can sync tabs that are open on chrome on your computer. Say
you were reading an article on the computer using chrome but then have to
go to work. You can leave and access any open tabs that are on your
computer right from your phone. Firefox for android has already been doing
this but it is nice to see it on chrome which is my preferred browser.
@Kuscheltierfilme yes, that is what I meant, and I still think they'll copy
it, like they did with notifications. Pull to reload was introduced with
Facebook I think, so that's nothing to do with either OS. As for
third-party browsers, Dolphin browser is available for both platforms.
Weird... App not available in my country?! I speak English just fine... in
fact my phone is set to English. Thank you Google!! Market also says:
incompatible with HTC HTC Sensation XL (My phone) Thank god it's only a
beta... Guess I just have to wait for the release of the "alpha"
@MrMurder96 Indeed I am logged in, but I changed the default configuration
slightly. I'm not storing password in the cloud and I've opted for
encrypting all transferred data, maybe thats the reason why the chrome on
my phone isn't getting any tabs. Hopefully they'll fix it :)
@zZiBlacKouTZz Sorry thought you meant they will implement Chrome like they
did with Google Maps ;D They'll possibly copy the tab management but I
can't imagine them to do this since they also avoided adopting other great
and popular design paradigms like "pull to reload"
@ExtraterrestrialMind Its only for ICS dude... your running GingerBread not
ICS.. you have to update to ICS through custom rom and then you can use
it... or wait for HTC to update your phone... ps.. thank you for all your
uploads!
would it be available for other than Ice cream sandwich? If not it's a bit
unfair because we have been waiting for chrome android version and it's not
fair for operation systems before Ice cream sandwich...
Chrome is running sweet on both my ICS powered HTC G2 phone and HPtouchpad!
@kmann...yes the new Android 4.0 is a game changer or should I say a phone
changer,lol.
@zZiBlacKouTZz its not even made specifically for android lol. if it was
integrated in the android default ice cream sandwich browser then id be
behind you.
Mine doesn't swipe to change tab as easy. I got a HTC sensation 4g on the
official ics update. Hopefully some updates can make it run better for my
phone.
