Awesome workmanship Bob! I too would love to know the details/specs of
hydraulic components required. MUCH better than any of the front engine
mounted blowers! I have a Japanese mini-truck that I really need to fab a
blower for and would really like like to be able to raise the blower enough
to at least go down the road 5 minutes to help out a friend in need.
Looking at your quad it would be perfect! Not possible with an gas engine
mounted blower that needs wheels to support it. Truck has a front 2" hitch
receiver which would be adequate for mounting & supporting a hinged med
weight blower lifted by winch. Power pack would fit in truck bed and
balance weight. Mechanical experience but not no hydraulic experience. You
rock!

ATV Snow Blower
My friend comes to me with a problem. He ran out of places to push the snow. So we came up with this awesome snow blower. He said it works so well that he ...
Make & Model...I Want one after the last winter we had. Any problems?
ATV Homemade Snowblower 2009 Snow test run
First test run of the ATV homemade snowblower / snow thrower on a Feb 2009 snow storm. The driveway is about 900 feet long 4 car wide at the top. The 11 hp ...
My snowblower total costs for the design and construction were 2000 EUR.
But I didn`t use any old snowblowers like you. All the theory came from my
head and the purpuse of my build was to draw production plans so that I
earn a Degree in mechanical engineering. Youre snowblower work is only a
product which has worked in the past and you only had to redisgn the
mounting to the ATV, and I agree that does not cost much.
its good riding on the caster wheels, BUT if its all the way down to the
ground "Scraping" then i holds back a little, I have 4 wheel drive so it
not that bad, i keep it up off the ground a pencil thickness and works
great. Yes it would keep it lighter in the front if you put the engine in
the back. how would you turn the auger?
am in the process of building on right now am thinking about using a 14.5
Ft-lb briggs and straton engine on a 2 stage 40" snowblower. was just
wonder how wide you snowblower is? And do you think that engine would be
enough it is about 10hp
How do you find cornering with the blower down? I am in the process of
designing a similar blower for my Arctic Cat and am wondering if mounting
the engine behind the quad would be better for cornering.
Thanks Garett, yeah thats the only snowstorm since I finished building it.
I need 1-2 feet to give it a real test. Hows your 1968 Simplicity? did you
get to use it a lot this winter. D~
Nice job , You might want to gear up your blower ,It will throw it out way
better ,Thats how honda's bercomacs throw so far ,They have the blower
pully geared to the moon. Good luck.
Ha right, I built the dam thing at the end of winter and had to wait like
2-3 weeks for a storm. not worried... we have winter 2009 coming Hope it a
killer I'm ready!!
You call that snow storm. I live in Ontario, the snow was half way up my
door. I had to jump out the second story window into a snow bank to get out
of my house.
Your right I could play with the pulleys I might do it soon. but am kinda
lazy, you know the saying if it works leave it alone. maybe this spring.
Thanks
yeah the sell ATV aftermarket cabs BUT they are $150 to 200 bucks, I built
the snow blower for less then 300. I think I'll stay cold for now..ha Thanks
