These kids are fucking losers. It's a shame what they do with their little
lives. Wasting it on spelling bees. What a shame. I'd be disgraced for my
child to be wasting his/her fucking life like this.
+Vu Ux I'd honestly much rather my children be shooting up opiates and hiring prostitutes than this."Intelligence and competition are things that should be encouraged, not punished."This is completely irrelevant to the conversation.
+Vu Ux That wasn't a syllogism, I was just defending urban chaos saying that these kids are losers. You can tell they have no social skills at all so yes, they are losers. But I can give you a true syllogism: Because these kids have to spend an absurd amount of time studying spelling, they rarely interact with people. If you do not interact with people, you will not have any social skills. Therefore, because these kids have to spend an absurd amount of time studying spelling, they do not have any social skills
+javarison53 It's not just memory that's involved in spelling, there is etymology, linguistics, word patterns of different languages, etc. Saying it's just memory is a bit of a generalization. Also, you're creating a false syllogism by saying that these kids lack social skills because they participate in spelling bees, when in reality, neither of us can know why they are anti social.
+Vu Ux Memorizing how to spell words isn't exactly the closest thing to intelligence. And just look at these kids, they clearly have no social skills at all
+Vu Ux So I guess its either spelling bees or shooting up opiates. Sure intelligence should be encouraged but what's the limit? Is it ok to force these kids to study, making them become antisocial losers?
+Urban Chaos 2.0 What would you rather your children be doing? Shooting up opiates and hiring prostitutes? Intelligence and competition are things that should be encouraged, not punished.
