Startin up my 2001 YZ426. Its actually pretty easy if you know the trick. They are a pain though once its been running for a while and everything gets hot.
@crashgear08 Yeah, I had issus as well, they are a bitch to start once
warm. I just parked on hills alot or let it sit for a while and cool down.
but the basic's of it is to clear it out by holding the decomp in all the
way and kick a few times. let go of de-comp and kick to you get TDC or the
hard part. Let the kikker up all the way, pull in de-comp and kick past the
TDC by 1 inch, then let the kikker back up and kick through with out the
de-comp on. Should fire up or might take a few trys.
Mine is a Bitty, it seems to kick start right off when it's cold. But once
I ride it for a while and then try to restart it NOTHING. Had to push the
bitch across terrain today. It's a sweet machine but I need more practice I
think on the start. So your saying then once the do not hold the Decomp in
all the way? Also do you kick it from the top or wait till you feel some
comp then kick the shit out of it? Thanks in advance..
@boxingbitch15 De-comp in and kick to clear it out. Then kicker all the way
up, push to TDC, De-comp in and push another inch just past TDC. Then
kicker back up, de-comp not held. Kick through nice and steady with some
force and it should start right up.
This doesn't really help at all I saw u kicking it to TDC then hit the
decompression then let the kickstart it back up n kick it. This works if
I'm lucky but I think I need more practice. But I think a new spark plug
might help.
the real trick is not to de-comp it fully.. just half way untill u feel the
kicker starts going down then kick it... dont de-comp it at full only
half... no need for else
@bandacycle haha we've managed to do that with 2 barns, an arena, and a
shed, mainly little projects not stuff like dirtbikes. One of the more
interesting ones is a 51gmc also a 89 340cc snowmobile engine :) I wana
make a go cart

i got the bike already set up with a 38t rear sprocket (down from 50t
factory) and standard front (16t i think) but my intention was to change
this to 15t front and 45t rear as you said.
well some of the original wiring from the WR flywheel was still there along
with the switchgear so I started from there. It was quite simple once I
found a good place to start from.
