Placebo - 20th Century Boy (Official Video)
This Isn't The Official Video... But, It's Officially Badass...
+Andylium... Exactly... And I'm Still Awaiting A Blu-Ray Release Of Party Monster So I Can Make An Epic Video Homage To That Epic! Film... (Any Day Now Blu-Ray People)... LOL!
This video sounds/looks like they are lip syncing along with T-Rex's
original recording of the song. Not saying that I think that that's what
they actually did, but, usually when a rock band covers another band's
song, they put their own twist on it.
+acoutts I thought the same thing, but found another live video with Brian May, and it's just as good. Maybe they just grew up loving the song, and wanted to keep it the same.
Placebo- 20th century boy
Placebo performing T-Rex's 20th Century Boy in the movie Velvet Goldmine.
Oh man, I didn't realize it was Placebo playing that! And the funny thing
is, last night when I was watching it, a friend of mine said 'the music
suddenly got good' when we came to that bit and she didn't know it was
Placebo either!
Fabulous film, fabulous music, fabulous cast ... never got the recognition
it deserved. One of my favs. Agree with evansia - Placebo in 20th Century
Boy was the pinnacle :O)
not a huge placebo fan but i have to admit - i was impressed how well they
pulled this off...although my favourite cover version of this song has to
be the Def Leppard one
Great band Placebo and great combi with Bowie. Of course Bowie remembers
Marc Bolan, who was a personal friend of him. They sang together both in
songs of T Rex and songs of Bowie.
