If you buy the new macbook pro then yes you can easily run this game at max. But probably not on the retina resolution unless you go medium graphics. The framerate in the game I get a solid 30-55 in some places. It dips a bit if you are in a town. But after over clocking my gpu and unparked all my cores the game ran 30+ in those heavy situations. The PS3 version of this game isn't bad but it's more choppy. But you're better off buying a controller and playing on your macbook pro. So much better.

I benchmarked a couple resolution and graphic configurations (in my videos). This game runs fine on this resolution as long as the graphics are configured to the lowest, not the preset (standard laptop). And to correct your retina concern, games can be played at retina resolution and run totally fine (not Metro Last Light haha). But better graphics and 1900x1200 is my personal favorite preset on this game.
