Nd has some Germans from Russia and California has some and I believe sw of
Winnipeg Canada has some. I seen a few maps of where Germans from Russia
immigrated. I can't remember where all but in North Dakota I think most a
pre war immigrants. I think Germans in Russia had it good until ww2. If
they have decent amount of freedom in Russia out in Siberia I understand
why they wouldn't want to head to Germany to sit in a shit apartment on
welfare.

They went because of the promises made to them which were later reversed - the main reason they left to come to the U.S. It was after this that the Russians took EVERYTHING from the Germans, killed an immense number of them and banished the remainder to Siberia. This is greatly simplified, but it is a brief version.
