Wow! $100 for one turkey?? Guess what's not going to be on my table this Thanksgiving! Hey, I'm sure there are people out there that can afford the price, I'm just not one of them. :( I would love to be able to raise my chickens organic, but the closest I can get to it is when they free range. If I had a better set up I'd be growing my own feed. Just can't do it where I am. :(

I saw somewhere that is cost about $12 to raise a pastured organic chicken. You must really be getting a great price on your feed or something. That's awesome. Janice

+Ozark living off Grid homestead Yes, she is welcome to it. Anywhere is better than from the perch. My only concern would be how messy the duck nests are, but they all lay in the morning before they are let out and the turkey lays around 4 or 5 p.m., so if I remember to clean the nests in the morning instead of the afternoon it works out well and the turkey egg stays clean.
