How to install a Camco RV Hybrid electric heater rod into your propane heater (with RV Crazy). Installation is very straight forward. There are a few ...
So you're going to leave the tank on all the time? Won't that just burn
through electricity/propane? Why not put the switch inside so you can turn
it on when you need it?
Also, for comparison since we don't know this already, how long did it take
to heat up before, how long does it take to heat up now and do you now have
"infinite" hot water?
+helloman1976 You can buy a tankless hot water heater for your RV but I'm guessing an electric one would require more than a normal outlet could provide. They do have propane versions as well which could be nice for when you are running propane. What this element is nice for is using electricity to heat your water when you aren't getting metered for your electricity. I'm staying at an RV park where electricity is included in my rent so with this electric kit I won't have to refill with propane as often and it's pretty much free power as it's all included in my space rent. It does take longer to heat the water but being a single guy it should work perfect for me on it's own. And I could always fire up the propane if I wanted the water to be hot faster.
+Linescrew1 So this device adds to heating up the water but it is still heated with propane? Not sure I follow exactly. I thought this was more like the infinity water systems (RENI? (sic)) where it heats up the water as you use it. Is there anything like that for RV's?
Standard 6 gallon propane water heaters will heat a cold tank in 20 minutes. This device is best used to maintain emperature and avoid paying for propane. You never get "infinite" hot water even with this device.
Great idea and it resolves yet one more propane(in the arse) issue! One BIG
suggestion on the installation - USE a grommet or some form of protection
for the wires going through the drilled 1/2 inch (what happened to
metric??) hole so as the wires bounce or vibration occurs, you have
something to prevent chafing and shorts. Nothing worse then chafing
shorts!!!

haha Most of the solo guy rv'ers should have a COLD water shower. I was in
a rv park in b.c. once, and they had a "blue pill" dispenser in the laundry
room. $5 ...wait...I saw LS1 with a woman in a couple of vids, so you're
ok. As rosannadanna once said, "nevermind."
I kinda feel like I have no reason to want to turn the electric element off unless there is an issue which needs servicing. I can shut off the breaker to shut off power to it from inside the RV if I wanted to do that. I mostly would want to put the factory switch inside because I believe that it is wired to turn the light off when the rod isn't on a heating cycle as I would like to monitor that.
Nice rifle build. I cant help but say FUCA U to the cunt that thinks taking
your grip away is intelligent. The feds should stop such infringements on
its people. Carry on and fight the good fight.
Are you running a spur grip on the lower? Found a metal one online. I
believe they're here in NY. www.alloutmfg.com/store/p6/Model_15_"Patrick_

+Darrell Cain I made my own spur grip out of a Hogue rubberized grip. It works real well as you can see, it doesn't slip out of my hand at all.
