+Cloe Chavry I just tried this following her exact instruction for the foundation with cornstarch, cocoa powder, cinnamon powder, almond oil and jojoba oil. It DID NOT work at all. First of all it was the color of dark chocolate. I'm not African so this is waaaaay too dark for me. Then I tried to fix it by adding more cornstarch and almond oil. I still couldn't get it to be any lighter in color. But the bigger problem is the texture...I could see the cinnamon powder grains in the foundation. This is not even close to being a make-up foundation. Such as waste of good ingredients. And these oils aren't cheap, so its a waste of good money too.

I tried foundation 1. I bought the ingredients posted, followed the
directions and found that it does not work. It clumps in mixing bowl and
when applied with a makeup brush makes a mess. I tried making it a liquid
by adding more almond oil and it turned a dark chocolate color and would
not spread on face. It made patched sections on my skin and felt more like
a facial sugar scrub.
+Lillian Russo The trick is to use less than half of the cocoa powder and none of the oils. We're not baking a chocolate cake here to create a paste consistency lol. You can add turmeric or sandalwood to create a golden undertone too. The cornstarch absorbs oils so it's ridiculous to add oils into this recipe. This is a powder foundation. Plenty of other youtube videos do the recipe correctly. I would guess 1 spoon cornstarch, 1/4 tsp cocoa powder, and 1/4 tsp of turmeric or sandalwood powder. Mix together and use a large powder brush to apply
+Sugarbunny Its terrible when people post things that clearly don't work. I'm now noticing she has lots of comments saying this didn't work. I wish I had read all the comments before I tried her formula. She should really remove this video to keep others from wasting their time and money.

An easy way to make foundation is to put some moisturizer in your face powder
DIY: Easy Powder Foundation
OPEN ME!!! (IMPORTANT INFO!!!) - - - - Hey guys! So today I made a diy powder foundation and i love it so much!! It's now part of my everyday makeup ...
+Hannah Denney well, yes and no. Most people will use organic cocoa powder to create the most nutritious and skin loving product, and Ovalitine is the opposite of organic. If you aren't for the organic stuff, I'm sure that Ovaltine will work just as well.
I used corn flour and liquid foundation and mixed it together and pushed it
into a container so it was hard like a normal powder . Are these
ingredients good for my face? As in nit harmful or isn't bad for my skin on
my face??
I have tried many ways and after seeing your comment yesterday I tried it, and it works well! I'm pretty sure it's not bad since cornstarch is used in food and foundation is used for makeup, so I'm pretty sure your good in that!
Just saying you can but... it's going to be like a foundation mostly.

+crysTAL Lewis I hope it works for you! I am allergic to many natural things (sunflower, almond, barley) so I have a hard time whether chemicals or natural! This is finally one that worked for me - I hope you love it like I do!
Well I was my face with Raw Honey im on a raw/organic skincare routine I don't use any chemicals and my acne has cleared up so I just didn't want to add anything that wont agree with my skin and make me break out. :) Thank You I will give this a try
+crysTAL Lewis Yes I've had more luck with natural than store-bought and all the extra ingredients. Another tip is to use tea tree essential oil in your facial cleaner if you don't yet!
plzzzzzzzzzzzzzz reply I dont have arrowroot powder availaible in the place
where I live . I dont want to buy it online also. Please tell me a
substitute for it . thank u
+Renee Peace Infinity You might see it called Arrowroot Flour instead of Arrowroot Powder - it's the same thing. But if you can't find it - cornstarch is the perfect substitute!!
Hello there. You know arrow powder (on the left side from my view) can we
use any other powder for this technique or where can we find that powder in
New Zealand? Or will be in another brand?
+Atiraira Watene I get it from Amazon (you can use any brand, just search by arrowroot) - or ask at a health store (I didn't realize my local one had it but they did) - but you can also use non-gmo cornstarch!
I tend to have a more yellowish skin tone and have small red marks on my
face. How can i have the perfect shade and hide those marks?? Can i use
something like cinnamon powder or what are other alternatives!
+Helen L Hi, great question! Some use ground cinnamon or nutmeg, or a combination of both with the cocoa or cocao powder. For a bit of yellow I've heard of some using goldenseal powder or tumeric (mentioned it tingled the first few days though) or calendula has had great reviews. Some like ginger as well. For a bit of pink some add a touch of the beetroot powder that I use for blush. I make many shades at once (lighter for concealer, medium for foundation, darker for bronzer). I hope that helps - it's a bit of an experiment at first to find your skin color!
