I would love to make one myself but tutorials are hard to find. I think most of it worked out except for the glue, what kind of glue was used for your armor??

Gotta love the irony of practically a barbarian spreading the Greek way of life on barbaric lands~Kinda rusty on Greek, but pretty sure Hellenic means what we would call greek, where Hellenistic translates more to 'greeklike'. So, you are spot on when saying ''Being Hellenistic does not make them Greek''

So, only thing that would characterise you as today-standards Greek, was the religion, language, participation in the Olympics and tradition. And it was all Hellenic in Macedonia..Am I missing something?

Too bad they did test the linothorax only with light recreational 'sports' bows, not with warbows. A Persian hornbow could well go over 120lbs in draw weight, while this was only shot at with 1/3 to 1/2 of the historical firepower. Also the arrowheads are wrong. These are broadheads i see in the vid. The most common arrowtype was a bronze trilobal head, which has excellent cutting and penetration properties. The persians also had tanged long bodkin types in their inventory. With a heavy 100 lbs + hornbow with the period correct ammo, i would probalby shoot right through the linothorax prototype without any effort- and probably shoot through the board behind it as well. Only hard and heavy plate can stop a bodkin or a trilobal shot from a heavy bow.

We found that while the bow had little trouble putting shafts through rigid surfaces like the wood backdrop we used as a safety wall, it performed surprisingly poorly against soft body armour like IIIa Kevlar or quilt. A bodkin has higher overall surface area than something like a sharp broadhead, and that can be a liability in penetrating something non-rigid like cloth or quilted armour.
