With a shotgun ready to fire and a chainsaw attached to his arm, Ashley Williams is always prepared to fight some demons. There can't be a list with horror icons ...
Anybody else notice that Ash is a completely different character in Evil
Dead II? In The Evil Dead, Ash was very hesitant to kill Deadites. In Evil
Dead II, he kills Linda right after she becomes a Deadite. He freezes with
the axe when Shelly has to be killed in the first movie, but when Ed
becomes a Deadite in the second one he quickly uses the axe. Also, in The
Evil Dead he didn't use the shotgun and chainsaw that much, but he puts
them to good use in the second one.
I kinda wished there were clips from the original evil dead in this. I mean
i understand ash isn't as badass as he is in the 2nd and 3rd but the
original still has alot more horror in it and he i think the fact that he
isn't as badass makes him look like a real person. He isn't at the cabin
because of the demons, hes there because he wanted to hang out with
friends. it just so happened that the woods were evil.
The first Evil Dead was done as a straight-laced horror movie, while the
second was done as a horror movie with comic overtones. It was only the
third movie that upped the cheese factor to pure goofball levels...and (for
me at least) cheapened both the movie's scope and the character.
@StraightUpFailz: he keeps hitting himself because in the movie a possessed
girl bites his hand causing his hand to become possessed as well. Which
would be why it keeps hitting him in the head with the plates and whatnot.
They are great movies. You should watch them all.
Alright!!!! he made it at last, I love his lines: Groovy. Give me some
sugar, baby. Good, bad, I'm the guy with the gun. Come gets some. Who's
laughing now. And finally, Swallow this. Ash....you are the best horror
icons of heros...EVER!!! especially you are funny.
Ash is definitely up there with Ripley, Indiana Jones, John Mclane, Neo,
Blade, Jason Bourne, John Conner and the Terminator, Rambo, Dirty Harry,
James Braddock, and as for Luke Skywalker they should hang out sense they
both need a hand if you know what I mean.
@tehfailcopter Sorry for the late reply. Anyway, that was not a Duke Nukem
reference. That was an EvilDead reference. Duke Nukem was quoting Ash (the
guy in this video) when he said that. There are a TON of EvilDead
references in the Duke Nukem series.
if you askme ash was pretty boring character in the first. only in the
second and third film he became funny and had fun oneliners. in the first
film he only managed to stay alive, but didnt really do anything.
Knew this guy had to get high billing. I've never even seen the films, and
I know exactly who this guy is. That is exactly what an iconic character
is, someone everyone knows regardless of circumstances.
Two things I always wanted to know, and still do not know. 1. How the hell
does he reload a shotgun without a second hand? 2. How the hell do you kill
a deadite if they're just FINE headless?
nice job, i love the Evil Dead trilogy and Bruce, but u didnt put in any
clips from the first movie. i know Evil Dead 2 does a recap of the first
film, but still it had some great moments
you can't only have bad guys in the list. great thing ash is ranked this
high, he really deserves it. very cool scene where he's attacked by his own
hand! Evil Dead is the best!
It's great that in a constant battle between horror fans over who is the
greatest villain, most of us can easily agree that ol' Ash is the greatest
hero.
