DEAD BATTERY (Honda Bobber/Rat Bike Update) "The Green Bullet"
Was going to go for a ride buy my battery was run down so i decided to show you what my bike is looking like lately.
1980 CM400T Garage built, New Sycl A123 battery
My 1980 CM400T with some custom touches from myself. 1976 CB360 tank, relocated electronics, removed the airbox, and now a Sycl A123 battery!
Actually started it a few weeks ago after sitting for a year without
charging it at all. No problem. The lights work as well as they ever did,
which isn't great, but I did ride at night quite a bit without any problem.
The only problem I ever have had with it is that it won't start if it's
below around 45. Won't even turn over. But that was only a couple of times,
leaving after work when I got a lot colder than I thought it would.
Check your intake boots, and make sure the rubber is good on your air
cutoff valves. It took me a good long while to find all the little holes in
the carbs to get them super clean. The good news is I've not had to do it
again since. The battery came from Syclbatt.com. It's the 4 cell 2.3 ah.
Price is pretty decent too. I've never had a problem with mine, except it
doesn't like colder weather. Below 50, and it's done.
I am looking to do this with my 80' CM400T as well. How has the battery
been holding up? Is there anything you have come across that you feel you
should have gotten a bigger battery? A 4S2P instead of the 4S1P? How well
do the lights work for the bike now?
I think I've tried just about everything to keep my bike running on its
with out playing with the damn choke, ill figure it out sooner rather than
later I hope. Nice battery where can I pick one up I'm trying to keep my
bike as naked looking as possible
Nice looking bike did you ever get it to run right, reason I ask is because
I did the same thing to mine as far as removing the air box and trying to
get the bike to run right
Yeah, it runs pretty good. Still have a small stumble way up close to
redline, but I'm not too concerned about it. Wound up with a 78 and 125
jets in it.
