this game was my very first RPG that my dad introduced to me. my dad passed
away when I was eleven and I received almost none of his stuff the only
thing I wanted was this game so I could cherish it forever and my dad's
side of family didn't allow me to go and get it. so I started looking up
this game for the original console PS2 and its selling anywhere from $70 to
$90. I'm so distraught because of what has happened and how I couldn't even
receive the one item from my dad I really wanted to keep and now it's so
high in price I feel ripped off just to get a new copy, but I have so many
good memories with this game I'm happy to pay that for the game just for
the sentimental value I have linked into that game. wish some of the old
games could be made new again and kept in its original form just formatted
for the newer consoles so we don't have to give up our childhood favorites.
Now if anyone feels the same please tell everyone share anywhere you can
and hopefully no one else will have to give up there childhood.
+Jared Hostetler I got both for about 40 dollars tops (I owned the second game for nearly a decade and recently snatched the first (I loved playing the games and then I got into the original series) Baldur's Gate for the PC is in a similar vein but VERY expanded on! it is BRUTAL (the original is) but it is FANTASTIC!
+SavageGames360 I have both, the first baldur's gate only cost me 10 dollars and the second I owned for MUCH longer.....I don't get why people are asking so high of the game, they are good but not amazing (maybe it's because they are from the black isle studios era of RPG games?) I know my copy of the original baldur's gate is probably worth more than sentimental!
+Jared Hostetler I can connect with you, this was my very first Dungeons and Dragons/RPG too! My dad and his friend went to my local game stop years ago. They didn't know what game to get and they randomly chose this one. I was dissapointed at first; But come to find out this is one of my all time favorites, and one of my favorite birthdays because of it. Honestly hurt a little bit inside from reading your post. But to make you feel better you can get one in a good condition from JJgames.com for around 12-15$. Hopefully this helped you out, wouldn't want you paying so much when you can get it for so cheap. And hopefully you can get some of those memories back from playing this great game.
+Jared Hostetler Had a look on amazon found the game for £5 granted it is the uk version of amazon but i'm sure you will be able to get it. I also have very fond memories of this game first RPG i ever got into like good luck trying to find it i hope you do :)
Really well that's good to know, and thank you for your response to my comment. I got I can find it that cheap soon so I can reminisce with the good times I still hold onto. Also again thank you so much for replying I do appreciate it so much and I'm incredibly thankful for you to share your knowledge about the game with me.Thank you,From: Jared
+Jared Hostetler find a local game store or something, craigslist, gamestop( online), I didnt pay that much for it. I remember I ordered the second one from gamestop and that is the even rarer one and it was only 45 bucks for me
+wayne andrewseywewsy yes and ill have more champions of norrath video up here within 2 weeks. a new walkthrough with better quality, also will have baldurs gate video up sometime after that my recordings got messed up and lost there sound so i have to beat it again.
Baldurs Gate Dark Alliance PS2 intro and first quest as sorceress
Baldurs Gate Dark Alliance, the game where the barrel death count is higher than the enemies! This is the opening for the sorceress and the first quest :)
! I Love This Fucking Game ! ! Sick gameplay Rythla, I use to play this all
the time, on my PlayStation 2, this is definitely one of the best video
games I had for PS2. Thanks for the good old memories Rythla. By the way
dudes, you should check out my video game channel, It's still pretty new,
but im working on it. Once you check it out, leave a comment just to let
me know what you think. ! STAY AWESOME BRO AND THUMBS UP !
Theres something special about the games of old days. I remember i my six
period class to play baldurs gate, Dynasty Warriors 3 FFx , spyhunter and
Rune Viking. Those was some pretty chill days. Or i forgot, got laid too
with a junior. Now games are over doing things and is missing that unique
feel. Thank you for uploading this
I loved this game to bits and recently I decided to get a PS2 and start
collecting some good old games and I just got this game in the post today.
Such memories
+felipmts it's the greatest game of all time in my opinion. It was so ahead
of its time, it's unreal. The only game that I can think of to even be
compared to it is Skyrim. This never got old to me, played it for days on
days and it never lost its spark.
The bartender Alyth is voiced by Jennifer Hale...who voices Leah in Diablo
3, the sequel to the games (Diablo 1 and 2) that inspired this one! The
Diablo 3 voice actresses of Auriel and the Female Wizard, Cree Summer and
Grey Delisle...are also in this.
I never really thought of that, but can't see why not! My laptop (I record
from it) has just died on me, so I need a new hard drive before I can, but
I'll work on it :) Sorry for the delayed response, I have been on holiday ^^
I loved this game! Got it for the Ps2 back in the day. Then when i sold my
ps2 and got an xbox i got it for that too. That's how much i liked the
game. Dying to play it right now lol
Hehe, I just love these style of games, there is a new one for the
playstation 3 coming out soon called Realms of War, might have a look at
that and see what its like :)
Great game! One of the rare gamesI could beat with my lousy eye-hand
coordination (and a lot of tenacity). Even managed to beat it on Hardest
level and unlocked Drizzt!
I cant believe I forgot the name of this amazing game. I forgot the name
for at least 10 years, then saw it again in a Reddit post. Honestly, what a
stoke a luck.
Baldur's Gate Dark Alliance vs. Champions Of Norrath Realms Of Everquest - Zion Mainframe
In this series we battle games and see which is the better quality experience. Today we battle Baldur's Gate Dark Alliance against Champions Of Norrath.
+larhonda41 NG++ was hard, I don't really know if I think that it is that hard after you've beaten Act V on NG++ but if you're young and ARPGs were a new thing and you had no experience with them, I could see why someone would think CoN:Realms of EverQuest was hard, and Baldur's Cheese Grate is easy.
+cryingzombie Never got to play them online but, I remember having friends over and playing 4 player coop. It was my god's forsaken right seeing as I had the 4 controller adapter for PS2.
You should see how I built my Level 80 Barbarian Warrior. I use Level 20 Stunning Strike, while using a weapon, enchanted with poison cloud or disease. Then, I use Level 20 Cyclone to ''spread the joy'' if he is surrounded by enemies. I might as well name him ''Plague.'' I miss playing both games online, too.
Beat Baldur's Gate twice? BS, that doesn't make for countless hours of
gameplay. Look at the save files and you'll see that each run takes about
8-12 depending on your character.
I agree that Baldur's Gate is better, but it's not as replayable. The
equipment is the same (except in extreme) so you can play it 5 times before
repeating yourself: 3 to try each character, 1 to try out extreme mode, and
1 to try out Drizzt.
Champions has less of a story (though still more than its sequel) but there
are 5 different customizable characters and 3 cumulative difficulties for
you to further advance the same character.
Although you didn't bring up this important part, BG still wins by a large
margin.
+Nick Keriazakos Scrub. BG is easy and not hard and beatable in less than 3 hours. Champions of Norrath, sure it doesn't take much longer, 3 hours to Level 30 or so but at least it had actual decent gameplay. Sure Norrath's story sucked ass, and the only real grinding area was the ant's nest but otherwise it was nice. It wasn't meant to be that long or an experience, that is where EverQuest:Online came into the picture.
Lets Play Baldurs Gate Dark Alliance #1 (blind) Willkommen in Baldurs Tor
Nach einer Reise kommen wir in Baldurs Gate an und werden auch schön vom Begrüßungs Komitee begrüßt ;)
Baldur's Gate Dark Alliance | PS2 | Official Trailer E3 2001
Let's Play Baldur's Gate: Dark Alliance- bonus part (The Gauntlet)
Before I delve into the Dark Alliance sequel, it's time to take care of some long overdue business by finally tackling The Gauntlet bonus game in the original!
It's dritst, as the double z is pronounced like it is in the word pizza. But I still pronounce it as drizzit, because that just sounds better to me personally.
It's a lot of patience, as well. Standing there and blocking then attacking or running circles around the enemies while attacking is the key to beating this challenge.
