This video is a first in a series regarding 'Bugging-In' or 'Sheltering-in-Place.' Explained is the organizational layout and construction of a 'Project/Maintenance ...
This is a great video, but I have a question that you may not be able to
answer for security purposes. If you dont want to answer it that is fine.
My question is, where is this bunker room in your house? Is it in you
garage, a closet, spare room, or did you build a house with this room in
mind? I am curious because I am trying to think where I could put this in
my house. Other than the garage I dont have a room without windows. I know
your spec ops so if you cant answer this I understand.
Great stuff. I have a maintenance room my self. I personally love my
pegboard because you can hang most of your stuff on it. A work Bench is
essential for doing lots of things. I have a Vise a Bench grinder and Drill
press Table Saw Scroll saw and lots and lots of power hand tools. Tool
chest 110 mig welder tig welder. Small Oxy Act Setup Turbo torch. Great
videos great job. I have recently scored a box of mre and starting to be
more prepared. Great Videos!!!!!
@AnalyticalSurvival Thanks, my friend! You probably have one of the
greatest channels on youtube, and there is no BS in that statement. Unlike
many others who do similar videos, you had experience with the special
forces and that is invaluable. I am not saying that someone with little
formal learning on this subject can not make a good video. I am just saying
your video are on a different level than anyone else! Please, keep up the
great work!
@pensword5: Unfortunately this is the case for many. In my humble opinion,
both males and females should become at least marginally proficient in
repair and maintenance. It does take some time and effort to internalize
this mindset, but well worth it in the end. I also think that ANYONE can
accomplish this--to some degree or another--with a little training and
practice. Thanks so much for your insightful comment, brother! Many
blessings --GM
You should think cordless tools for survival use. I do a lot of mobile
handyman work where there is no power, or it is highly inconvenient to run
power cords. Hands down best is 18volt Dewalt, get the whole kit since it
looks like you can afford it. One smaller driver tool that is good is the
Hitachi 10.8 volt unit. They are all rechargeable and there are plenty of
ways to improvise power for recharging, and they are all full power tools.
@analyticalSurvival Another great tutorial. I really like the inexpensive
approach coupled with the maximization mindset. The only thing I would like
to add is: for everyone to understand this is just a base/basic design and
that it can be modded or redesign to suit. So many people are quite
literal, will then build as per your specifications and complain when it
does not suit them. LOL. Great Work. ..X..
After having watched a number of you vids I have to say you are very
knowledgeable on many subjects, and they are all presented in very clear
and concise manners. I really enjoy your style and presentation. I did
notice one thing though, which I'm sure you know, but at 7:43, "vertically
level" = plumb. Sorry... Not trying to be a grammar nazi; just noticed it.
@8digitPDX: Thanks so much for your insightful comment, my friend. I
actually LOVE the 18v DeWalt cordless. One of the more--if not
most--powerful drills available. Been thinking about that model for years,
and may just take that next step based on your recommendation. Again,
thanks, and many blessings --GM
WOW! As a professional mechanic I take my hat off to your system. Of course
since do some automotive work I need a mobile tool box but for household
work this would be great. I assume you have a portable tool tray that you
can grab several tools and go somewhere else in the house to do a job.
The skills to repair and know-how to troubleshoot is quickly dissapearing
from the male today. It seems to no longer be a priority to have these
skills, as alot of dudes I know couldnt even change a flat. When shtf you
will have to do these things for yourself or it may cost dearly.
@Xonegod: Thanks for your kind words! Also, thanks for your suggestion -- I
had originally intended to add that type of disclaimer, but it slipped my
mind during production. I just now added it to the video byline, however.
Thanks, again, for your reminder! Many blessings --GM
WOW. This rivals the quality of some DIY shows. Extremely professional and
I love the grapics you use. I'm getting ready to build a new workbench in
my garage and I think I'm going to try to incorporate some of your verticle
storage along with my tool boxes. Job well done!!!
Hey, just wanted to say thanks for this video. I took your basic design and
made a few adjustments to make it fit my needs, but I must say this is a
good design. I now have a 4'x3' work bench instead of a small hand-me-down
desk. Thanks again.
Excellent vid. I have learned allot and you gave me great ideas for my
workshop downstairs. I have my tools/equipment separated between the
workshop and garage, but I see that I need to get my workshop at the ready
the way you have it.
Once again you have created a concise, informative, well thought out vid. I
truly look forward to your videos. Thank you for the time you take to
create these vids, and more importantly, THANK YOU for your service to our
country.
