//www.gofasthavefun.ca | //www.pozitiveground.com/ | //stingerelectronics.com/ In this video I go over the importance of running wiring properly for ...
now I am thinking if I let my local audio shop install a head unit, they
may take shortcuts. any recommendations for how to check if an aftermarket
head unit is installed incorrectly?
+Momen Kazi You'd have to pull the head unit out and check for wiring cleanliness. If the shop has a good reputation and you have no reliability issues, you shouldn't worry.
I got a 2016 Toyota Tundra. I went to run the wire to the doors and found
there's no access to the door boots. Looks like I'm going to have to use
the factory wiring from the factory amp. I was planing on running 16 gauge.
But the factory wire looks small. 20 gauge maybe? Will this handle the
60-75 watts RMS to each speaker, or is my factory wiring going to end up on
fire?
+Tec 9 I did a 2015 Tundra recently and installed an Alpine PDX V9 putting out 100 watts per channel and grabbed the factory wiring coming off the factory amplifier's output, and it worked fine. I don't know if they changed wire thickness for 2016.
Hey so i used the remote wire attached to the positive cable going to the
amp from the battery just to test if the amp worked and the sound sounded
really bad and scratchy so i gave up.. I told several people about it say
that its because i didnt put it on a fuse does it matter? I know in the
long run it should be on a fuse so it turns off the amp but i just wanted
to test it
+Rudy Serna The remote turn on won't affect sound. But it should be a on some sort of switched source. A poor signal will give you bad sound. Garbage in garbage out. Or loose connections.
How NOT to do Car Audio Episode 3
//www.gofasthavefun.ca | //www.the12volters.ca Ahhh fixing another install. This time the vehicle's speakers weren't working properly. A cold solder joint ...
+Andrew Oliver Well some people can't afford amplifiers, or they want an affordable speaker that will drop in. That's like saying if someone buys a Honda Civic, "if it's not a NSX.. what's the point?" Different product for different budgets.
+Ryan L Ya I find people are getting a lot of value from it. I think it helps a bit more when you see it improperly done because some people might think they're doing it right when they're not.
