Long story short, picked up a Street Fighter 25 Anniversary Set. Cheapest
shipping method they would do was Fedex, 57$ to Canada. Took 2 days which
was good. Packaged so poorly that one of the corners on the case was
crushed. Opened it up, the case/box had huge gash across the top of it and
a random piece of duct tape on the bottom holding something on maybe. More
or less a factory second. Told PlayAsia and sent pics. 3 weeks of BS they
eventually refunded everything, saying Fedex refunded them.
Back in 2007, I imported a DualShock 3 for my U.S. PS3 60GB because for
those of you who may not remember, the PS3 controllers did NOT have rumble
feature which was really dumb on Sony's part (but they were having a patent
rights issue at the time). Anyway after a few days, the controller would
move erratically. I'd d/c, r/c, tried diff games, etc. Clearly broken
hardware or sensor. I emailed their customer service, shipped it to them at
expense and they said they found nothing wrong.
and then they, (Play-Asia) shipped it back to me. I ordered Initial D:
Extreme Stage, as with their coupons it WAS to cheapest at the time, but
decided that they will no longer get my business/support. Really, really
disappointed with Play-Asia. About $80 USD down the drain because they
refused to exchange, not refund, a broken PS3 controller that they shipped
back to me. I connected it back to my PS3 and of course, still freakin'
broken! Ridiculous.I hate Play-Asia!
Just a very odd situation for me to get a full refund and get to keep the
item without them wanting me to send it back. Almost as if they new the box
sets they had on sale were less than in perfect shape. Just my guess. I
won't trash them totally as I did get some free stuff out of it, but I'll
never use them again given the screwing around I had to do it get reply
from them and any kind of real help. Hopefully an unboxing tomorrow or the
next day.
ah that sucks... man I hate that type of BS. my 4 in 1 cost me like 35
bucks including shipping about 2 years ago. Package came in mint
condition... but it wasn't through fed-ex (I have had a few bad experiences
with them) That was the only time I ordered with playasia though... so I am
guessing I was just lucky. I am not a fan of the customs duty scam fedex is
now running I have to say...
I'm going to make that video tonight and upload it. In the end, they went
above and beyond to make sure I didn't feel screwed but it was a 3 week
wait and need me to threaten them...oddly enough by making a Youtube video
that 10 people will watch. Try to get that up tonight...and I still have to
send you a post card or something, gotta do that tomorrow!
ah, I am curious to know too what happened.. I ordered once from them, it
took 3 or 4 weeks for it to arrive (montreal) as I expected since it's from
asia.... and I was happy with that they charge for a brand spanking new
saturn action replay 4 in 1 card. Used ones on ebay were going for around
double the price on ebay.
I've had problems with PlayAsia once in a while. I need NTSC-J format, but
English language, yet PlayAsia doesn't label games that way when you order
them, so I get the wrong language sometimes. They credit me, so it isn't
too bad, just a hassle.
It might have been 2008, but I remember it was around the time Drake's
Fortune 1 to the time Initial D: Extreme Stage came out. I remember playing
Halo 3 and going to the Family Arcade and playing Initial D: 4th Stage with
my friends...
Uh oh that's doesn't sound like a good time. I have never bought anything
from them before but I have looked at some stuff and considered buying I'll
wait to hear your experience to see what happened.
The only thing I like about them is that they had the video game that i've
always wanted for a good price and they have PSN cards for the Asian psn
store. But the digital process sucks...
I did get some really good deals last year off of their Facebook "members
only" section. Generally though, they charge an arm and a leg. Most import
game deals do anyway.
They're the most over priced import site anyways....
