A request from an old friend. There's a second guitar part, which is played with different fingerings (maybe without a capo, but I haven't listened to it closely).
Great news ... the whole cast, every one of them agreed to come back for
the new Anchorman ... here's a bit more of that same scene. Veronica
Corningstone: God no, it smells like, like a used diaper... filled with...
Indian food. Oh, excuse me. News Station Employee: [Disgusted] What is
that? Smells like a turd covered in burnt hair. News Station Employee:
[Horrified] Smells like Bigfoot's dick! Brian Fantana: [Tries to act casual
and walk away] Woah, what's that smell?
HAHAHA, OMG I forgot about that part. And it's hilarious when everyone else
thinks it smells like a skunk too. I'm sitting here watching "Blades of
Glory". Will Ferrell is so talented. After this I'm watching Semi-Pro. But
Anchorman" if a CLASSIC for sure. I jsut HOPE & PRAY that they're able to
get ALL the original cast members back like Paul Rudd, Steve Carrell and
David Koechner. GOOD STUFF like Privettricker's GEE-TAR playing.
Cool man thanks for the song...i just watched a vid of Pete Townshend
playing that same Gibson J200 (or it sure looked like it) beautiful guitar
on his live version of Drowned, I think you would really like this version
too PT. It would be great to see you play that same live version because
there is some great guitar work on that song on stage he does. It was great
to see Pete play that guitar that too. Thanks man.
Ha ha, fun! Literally don't think I've heard this song since I was a
pre-teen in 1975 running round the public swimming pool, with those
bullhorn radio "speakers" blasting atop the concession stand ...weird how a
long forgotten song can sound so instantly familiar after almost 4 decades
and evoke such a vivid and specific memory.
LMAO! You had to go there didn't you... I suppose you have so many songs
that you cover it must be tough finding new ones.. Still no... "Love will
keep us together" Nickleback has a version.. Come on.. lol if you can do
Afternoon Delight surely you can do Love will keep us together, not the
Captn and teneal version.
Hey PT....do you ever sit around and entertain your friends/family with the
crazy amount of songs you know how to play? You could start the party on a
Friday and play all weekend without playing the same song twice. Really
appreciate all the work you put into your channel. A big Cheers from
Canada!!
Allright that's FANTASTIC. Smells like Bigfoot's dick, LOL, OBG that is
some funny stuff . I can't WAIt. Thanks for the info. I have to watch
Anchorman tomorrow evening so I can have a good laugh. Way too many good
scenes in that movie. thanks again for the great news :)
Yeah ... Ron and the news team made it GREAT! I am looking forward to
Anchorman two too. One of my favorite anchorman quotes ... "It's called Sex
Panther by Odeon. It's illegal in nine countries... Yep, it's made with
bits of real panther, so you know it's good."
Holy Shit, I thought I was the ONLY one who felt this way. The song was
BLAH until good ole Ron Burgendy sang it and his friends joined in with the
harmony and it sounded DAMN FINE didn't it, LOL. Can't wait till Anchorman
2 comes out. that will be a TREAT.
When I hear it, it takes me back to summer 1976 in Bowie, Maryland. I was
only 8 years old, so I had no clue what the lyrics meant -- I thought it
had something to do with fireworks. I still think the phased lap steel
fills sounded really cool.
would you mind doing "Rainy Day" by America? "AFternoon Delight" always
makes me laugh cause of the cheesiness of it all. It's almost on the same
level as the Captain and Tennille's "Do that to me one more time"..hahahaha
I'm going to have to consider buying a J-200. That guitar is such a gem.
Nice job as usual. I'm only a 5'4 female so I hesitate to have that big ole
box guitar for myself but I'm sure I would enjoy it for years to come.
I've posted a lesson on how to play Pete's solo acoustic version of
Drowned. Pete recorded all of the Who's post-1968 acoustic tracks using a
J200. I believe in more recent years, he's been using his signature model.
I knew you had to be from MD. I swear your entire library could have been
my record collection. Bring me back to the days of WPGC, DC101 in the early
days of Howard Stern and the Greaseman. Whadledoodledottum!
I was 6 when this came out and was juvenile enough to think the lyrics were
about boning chicks in the middle of the day. Now that Iam older and wiser
I realize the song is about fireworks and astronauts.
I never really liked this tune until I heard Ron Burgundy sing it ... now I
love it. This is another shining example of why I am delighted to be one of
your many subscribers. Thank you PT.
i knew there'd come a day that you'd have to scrape the bottom of the
barrel for tunes. it was a mathematical inevitability. i just never
realized it would be so soon. lol. nice playing
HAHAHA fuck yeah dude! i just decided while i was at work today i wanna
learn this for fun to play drunk at parties and now i know how to play it !
yewww |Chhhheeeeers mate
Ha ha ha.., thanks for pointing out the guitar parts..never thought about
this song having guitar in it...too focused on the "Afternoon delight" part
I guess..LOL 5* --Van
Hello privettricker, I'm new to your channel, can I just say congrats to
you! I love your guitar collection, how did you manage to have such quality
along with quantity?
Yeah, that's the line that always cracks me up. I've heard people sing that
as "the thought of loving you," but that would have been a lot tamer than
the real lyric.
Anchorman - afternoon delight scene
Anchorman: The Legend Of Ron Burgundy - Aftermoon delight scene.
+Cindy Crawford I know, right? It's like I was watching this and found it hard to realize that "Ant Man" was standing in the room with them. I loved the cut scenes when they were making the introductions and he says about "If you think I'm the kind of person that has a name for his penis, you'd be right, I call it the Octagon." Or when he talks about something along the paraphrased lines of "I've been to first base with 177 girls, got to second base with 53, third base with 19 and made it all the way home with 4 very lucky women." Though the way he says it is just rather funny.
The group began as 'Fat City', a husband/wife duo of Bill Danoff and Taffy Nivert. The band was also composed of Jon Carroll (keyboards and vocals) and ...

This movie came off as kind of a bullshit story intended to make
middle-class suburban wives feel better about themselves and enable them to
look down on others who live different lifestyles. I say that as a
middle-class married person.
Starland Vocal Band - Afternoon Delight - HQ Audio )))
Starland Vocal Band was an American pop band, known primarily for "Afternoon Delight", one of the biggest-selling singles in 1976 The group began as Fat City, ...
So, when they say "afternoon delight", could someone tell me more
specifically what they are referring to? I mean, like lunch at a nice
restaurant or what?
+43nostromo "Afternoon Delight" was actually first coined by the Starland Vocal Band and written by Bill Danoff, one of the members of the band. The lyrics are sexually suggestive wordplay and quite simply talking about daytime love or having sex in the afternoon. The title came from the happy hour menu at Clyde's restaurant in Georgetown, Washington, D.C., where Bill Danoff was eating with fellow bandmember Margot Chapman while his then-wife Taffy Danoff was receiving surgery for cervical cancer. Danoff enjoyed writing the song and downplayed the somewhat controversial lyrics, saying, "I didn't want to write an all-out sex song ... I just wanted to write something that was fun and hinted at sex.
+Knarf Seyer I just to stay low and humble. That way I always have something to strive for, I have to look up to see what direction I must follow and I continuously have the sun and my friends' smiles shining on my face.... like your's, Knarf. Thank you for being so wonderful!!!.☼(ˆ◡ˆ)☼
+Carmen Mandich Left you speechless? ;-) My wife says the same thing.....but usually there is a slow, deliberate headshake following the comment. ha haThank you.
+Knarf Seyer You make me feel very special with such kind words. I am very honored to have you as such a wonderful and close friend. Thank you for everything you give.... You give of yourself..... The best!!!!! ;-)
+Knarf Seyer I play with my camera a lot more so many times the shots are over exposed or under exposed or just plain out of focus.....not to mention those that are plain duds!!! But I'm having fun learning!!!! \o/
+Carmen Mandich but it is true. Can't deny your skills. Online gambling? Maybe, maybe not. But I would love to see which pics are on your cutting room floor. I can't fathom those pics that didn't make the "cut" are worse in any shape or form. He he he
Oh +Knarf Seyer You are making me blush again. It is all a matter of mathmatics. I take more photos and the odds of getting something nice go up. (Am I admitting to online gambling here???) BigHugs
+Carmen Mandich hugs yes, I can see the experimentation. Your subject matter being very refined and simple is outstanding. You are just getting better, I mean from really, really good to great.
Good morning +Knarf Seyer ! I have been really busy to the point of losing track of what day I need to do what.... So, today I am trying to take things slower.Thank you so much for the very kind words on my photos. I have been trying to learn and experiment a little more and I am having fun in the process. It's great to hear that you like them. (hugs)
+Carmen Mandich good morning or in your case good afternoon/evening. How have you been?Pics you have posted recently have been outstanding. Kudos, Maestro.
She's a ton hotter in this movie than she ever was as Kelly in Married.. With Children.

+Robert Luben I thought this was about food when I was little....I thought that they mention dinner and afternoon delight being some kind of dessert or something...needless to say as I got older and really thought of these words, wow, they were bold for this time period lol
