Shared on Newmarket:What's Happening FB page. For about 6 months, I received 3 or more fraudulent calls daily from persons claiming to represent the CRA (yet the phone numbers originated from New York and California), at all hours of the night and day, who were insisting I pay my taxes ASAP or face dire consequences. Thing is, my taxes are all paid up, and have been, for years. I told 2 different callers that IF they indeed were representing the CRA, they would KNOW I owed NOTHING. I don't have a "block call" function on my phone, so I just started turning it off or putting it on airplane mode all day, until needed. The calls persisted until about 10 days ago, and seem to have stopped. A terrible annoyance, however.

This has been happening allot, my mom was called the same way and she ran away to the neighbours until I was home because she really thought they were going to come and arrest her.
