+Mohamed Muharram bin Mohd Hanipah +1 I agree... when the wok is at optimum temperature, the whole process of stir frying takes just mere minutes. I used to watch him in the 80's ... he was like an idol... doing a Chinese / North American fusion style Chinese cooking. I was actually thinking of purchasing this machine until I saw him doing this video. The machine stirs and using hot air kind of air fry for you, so in a way it is stir-frying. In the end I hunted down a friend of mine who actually has one, had them make french fries and tasted them. It doesn't taste anything like deep fried fries. Sure crispy, but I could of done the same thing via actual stir fry which is faster. No thanks.
+Blue Chan I agree with u . And the sample he did to do Chinese stir fried dish is a bad example. I can just make simple fries using fresh potatoes . 500 ml olive can last damn long
Ming Tsai used to be a good respectable chef, but when any respectable chef sells their souls to hock someone else's products that's when I bow my head in shame, it reminds me of the day I met one of the celebrity chef's I admire at a House and Home show... he lent his name to help sell a refrigerator... yes I like the brand he was selling but he's a chef... he doesn't make nor sell appliances.
@actually the cook is an idiot . It takes 10-15 to deep fry 10/15 pieces of chicken nuggets without oil . It's not great , at least I get to eat something after coming back late
but the time factor... this joke of an appliance though can possibly use less oil possible takes a lot longer to cook anything. As for stir-frying with flavour oils such as Olive oil in a Chinese dish... no thanks, the actual flavour of olive oil is revolting and changes the flavour of the dish overall. When I stir fry and deep fry, I use Canola oil as it doesn't impart a flavour into the foods it cooks.
Some things it can make better by using less oil (typical deep fried items only), but dishes like Asian stir-fry. Yeah the traditional pan/wok is faster and tastier. It's only meant to replace a deep fryer. And it's not even that faster. Frozen fries in a deep fryer... 6-8 mins versus 20-25 mins in the Acti-Fry. Onion rings 8-11 mins versus 32-36 mins... so tell me how this saves time? Even the total single dish Ming Sai did with all the separate components done separately, total time is over 45 mins. Whereas wok/pan method, 15 mins tops.
Exactly what I was thinking and I was going to write the same thing and on the top it was your comment :) yes for one meal 3 full table spoon of oil this is not that awesome as it sounds

Amy, you shouldn't measure your flour in that measuring cup -- it's a
liquid measuring cup. You need a dry measuring cup. There's a difference in
both weight and amount!
