A pasture for a miniature horse is ideally 1-2 acres minimum. A small
backyard in the city or town is not suitable. Jsut because they are small,
they are still horses and need to be treated as such. They also need proper
hay and water and excersice. They can't be put out to pasture at all times,
or else they will get fat. They need to be jumped and trained. They are
very smart and can do many things for you! Feel free to message me or the
vid owner for details about this wonderful breed.
beautiful mini horse... I'm planning on getting one but i don't know if i
have enough space :/ :(. Btw How big garth do you have to have for one mini
horse? is it enough with like 7x150m? (for one/each mini horse) plz reply :)
thanx for the good advice and reply. I'll make sure of all those things,
before i buy one ;)
Miniature horse stallion (Mardi)
Ebony N Ivory Acres Standing Stallion Mardi Gras Im The Target a black and white pinto tobiano. Mardi stands at 32.75in tall and as of now his tail in 7ft long!
@littlestablegirl I am offended, What gives you the right to tell me to cut
my horses tall. Based on the Rule book for AMHA, AMHR, and PtHA the mane
and tall length is up to the handler. I take very good care of his tail,
and keep it up in a tail bag. He has no problems with flies because all my
horses are on Bug Check, have fly sheets, and get fly sprayed. His
Grandsire Shadow Oaks Paul Bunyan one of top sires in the mini horse world
aswell as a world champion had a tail just as long.
@NamihaTaiga if you want to ride your mini and take the chance of harming
them thats your choice, the fact is that minis were not breed to be riding
horses not even for children, they are cart horses. Ive seen what can
happen to a horse with a to big of a rider on them, my friend put a 400lb
man on a 5 year old quarter horse, after the trail ride the horses hips had
buckled and the only thing the vet could do was put the horse down.
@MoodyBlue0614 Really your one of those people, someone who likes to be
mean and hurt people's feelings. HIS TAIL IS NOT FAKE! I'VE BEEN GROWING IT
FOR 6 YEARS! AND IT IS NOW 7FT LONG. IF YOU BOTHERED TO READ THE
DESCRIPTION YOU WOULD KNOW I'M GOING FOR THE WORLD RECORD FOR LONGEST
MINIATURE HORSE TAIL IN THE WORLD! I am very proud of my horses and take
good care of them, keep your snotty comments to yourself please .
@kaluancream1 people around me (most girls my age 17) they ride miniature
horses, just lightly though and at a walk only, i ended up getting on my
miniature(found out she was shetland..shes quite tall) didnt find any
problems, there are barely any children riders around that will get on a
unbroke mini, so its leaving the more experienced teens to ride them...
crazy i find
@NamihaTaiga this is not a stupid question, but miniature horse are not
meant to be ridden at all, for health reasons, they can develop back
problems with age. yes the mini shows do have a lead line class but riders
are to be 7 and under. you got to get a pony for riding, if the horse is
39ins tall its pony and can handle being ridden.
Not yet last I measured in January of 2013 his tail was 7'8" he has about 2
years left of growing before we reach the record of 9;4" It took the
current record holder 10 years of growing, I am going on 8 years of growing
with Mardi
aww he is such a beautiful horse and his tail is really pretty i ride
saddlebred and you know some of them have the fake tails but you can tell
his isnt fake i hope you beat the world record that would be really cool!!!
:)
@Horsegirl20ful - Thank you His tail is 6.3ft long I think he gets it from
his great grandsire Shadow Oaks Paul Bunyan. On record the longest
miniature horse tail is 9.4ft long, Im hoping he can beat that record.
Wow! My stallions tail was 46" long and he himself is 31" tall. I had to
cut it though after show season because it got to thick to braid or wrap
and a tail bag wouldn't stay in :(
I have a mini who has a tail that is like two tails long. We keep it
braided and in a wrap. I have been saying we are going for the world
record. But I didn't know there was one.
A beautiful well bred and exquisitely marked mini. What an amazing mane and
tail. Good luck with the world record. We are "tail growing" but have a
long way to go!!!!
