Hey THANX! I went under novice mode and ran a simple stability test n this MOTHERFUCKER FRIED MY BOARD. Literally. I'm runnin phenom II 965 BE, msi 790fx gd70, ocz amd 4gb 1600 ram, xfx 1gb gddr5 juniper graphics card, corsair 750 watt psu, wd 1tb cav. black hd, haf 922 case... system shut down shortly after I started the test, tried to reboot got nothing, then I got it to boot for a min. and flames literally shot out from my board near where the psu connector. What the hell happened??????

I have a question... I have and AMD A6-3620 (pre-build pc) -I have never overclocked a cpu (only gpu) through software before. the default clock is 2200MHz, and I managed to overclock it to 4000MHz(4GHz) without any voltage increase.(the default is 1.3250v) The cpu did 1,000,000,000 digits of pi in y-cruncher without crashing and I have yet to see it go past 65C Should I increase the voltege? and/or should I test with a larger number (maybe 5,000,000,000?) --- wow I sound stupid...lol

The driver support for those 2 beast together is not at its finest you know... You would have been better waiting for it to be good and buy your new second card at a lower price. Did you manage to push the 9850 higher? My personnal limit was 3.5GHz and it was very unstable. I dropped back to 3.37GHz and it's running very stable and nicely. BTW, can you make a video of your rig with those two hooked up? It would be very nice to see them running together :P

Phenom sucks compared to core2 quad. Even core2 duo beats it at 3ghz vs. a 2.6ghz phenom. The only thing barcelona takes over intel is in Highly dense server environments because you can put most to work together in large numbers because of the scalability. In a regular platform they get slaughtered even up to 16 cores is not enough. Intel still wins in 16 cores. You need 100s of cores to see the difference in power savings and scalability.

hmm, yep you might be right. It probably produces too much heat. And it's true that 8800GT and HD3870 are cheaper and in some cases (as i know) HD3870 is better. i'll buy a new computer and i was trying to decide whether to buy 8800GT or HD3870. But now my choice is HD3870. I believe that it will show its real performance in a near future, because it uses a newer tech than 8800GT. (DX10.1 / SM 4.1 ...) 8800GT is also a good card though.

I believe, in reality, that Nate is actually a professional CS 1.6 player who can bring down an entire team of professional players (who are armed with the best weapons) with only the default pistol. Also, Nate overclocks by submersing his $10,000 PC in solid helium (2 degrees kelvin and under) and then puts the CPU voltages to 300 Tera volts.

If ATI havn't merged with AMD I'm more happy with my HD 2900XT. My friend hates his HD 2900XT because he didn't have AC Unit in his room and cooking him too. :(I'm not really happy with my card since there are cheaper options i.e. 8800GT and HD 3870. I'll be waiting for another batch of good cards from ATI department. If not? Damn, have to wait for Intel then or going to Nvidia for the first time.

@Legomaniac150, I know what you mean, I have been fighting my computer for almost 3 weeks and I am still having performance issues. AMD Athlo II X4 640, 8 Gigds RAM, 1 Gig HD Radeon 6700, and the fucking thing is still crashing when I run games. I am going to test out this prgram. If it works, Kudos AMD, and if it doesnt, I will be going back to the BIOS. Overclocking is a bitch.

I was an Intel and Nvidia fan. My old CPU had an E6300 and an 8600GT. I just want to say I upgraded to an AMD Phenom II X4 920 (couldn't afford BE 940 :P) and 2 CF 4830 1GB. My system performance is unbelievable. Right now I am running this Overdrive Utility and seeing how much more I can get. Good Job Amd! P.S. I am not an AMD employee or an affiliate. Just a new fan!

AMD will always beat Intel in perfoamnce markins and stress test mainly to teh fact that AMD is a Direct connect Architech and dedicated L1,L2,L3 Caches wear as intel can only manage Shared Cache.intel has overly long pipelines in the CPU wear as AMD have considerably short pipelines that equal faster system response and greater program usage.

Back at home there is women and guys that are young and are not geekish looking but in great shape. This matters and so it makes them feel better so having a female PC technician would improve work and that includes the male as well. That way others are convinced or encouraged to be PC technicians of CEO's of a big company.

One great sh... I had better computer that those "spider..." In movie, (this or relative with this guy) automatic overlocking takes few secs, he said, from 5 to 25 minutel. Dont fu.. true. After 30 minutes it wont move from 1% im my pc. It just changes bus from 202 to 203 and stil 'working'. lol and shame for AMD

I'm curious to know what EXACT hardware they are using in that video to go from 13000 to 19000 in 3dMark06. I'm fairly sure it's a con and I say this because I have a Phenom 9950, 3870s in Crossfire and a 790FX board with good ram yet can't get this 19000 they supposedly say you can get.

I got a AMD x2 3800+ dual-core but i cannot use AMD overdrive..i already deleted it but it said no level 4 or series chipsets detected or something like that i don't remember. Do you know anything which is stopping me from using this tool? Please respond thanks!

Im worried to do this because I herd that u need fans and shit and you pc will end up not lasting as long i use a laptop with a ATI AMD RADEION HD 3200 and i dont know if i can overclock. But I dont want to risk spending another 1500$ for another pc

Ezzel csak az a baj,hogy fogalmad sincs,hogy melyik feszültség mit jelent.Az SB feszen speciel semmit sem kellett volna emelned.Olyan,hogy addig állítjuk a feszt,míg sárga nem lesz,olyan nem létezik.A stabil tuning a feszültségek pontos beállításán múlik.Néha .05V-on.
