my blanket looks nothing like your video. Your video shows it as soft and spongy mine does not look like that and it is not as large as you show it . and yes i had the required no of stiches in each row.

+doris easter perhaps you can try it again with 2 strands of medium weight yarn.

yes the yarn and hook size were the same I ended up taking the yarn back and not doing the pattern.  did not know if I should have used a smaller hook or a larger hook?

+doris easter were you using the same yarn and hook called for in the pattern? You may crochet a lot tighter than I do.
