The his vocals in the first song aren't that great, but the rest I'm fine with. I think he has to integrate his own voice better, needs more energy. I hear, David Byrne influence..

+Nuno Duarte SAMMEEE!! Got to see her in DC whenshe did her tour for Idler Wheel and it was unbelieveably amazing. Took a couple videos too that you can see on my page.
I agree ... can't wait for new Fiona material ... I adore her and her music !

What's with the gaffers tape over the hole of the Taylor?
Looks like a 314 ce but why put tape over that guitar?
Trying to quiet it down maybe? Nice song though.
There's a decent chance you're about to discover your favorite new band. Based in San Francisco and led by Liam McCormick, The Family Crest builds its songs ...
The "hey, ho" stuff again, and the vests and violins and old-timey hats and
that fakey singing style... it's like an SNL parody or something. How do
people like this junk?
+Kevin Florenzano I'm not criticizing you or anything, I mean everyone has an opinion but what do you mean by fakey singing style? I'm not sure you can fake singing.
I hate to break this to people but Mumford and sons did not invent this
look or style. Folk singers especially the Irish have had this look for 100
years.
Everyone knows there are five immutable truths in life. No. 1 is "Nothing's ever easy." No. 2 is "Nobody does the right thing." No. 3 is, well, you get the idea.
NPR Tiny Desk!!! I have found so many wonderful bands and talents on this
"programm". Here in germany we are allways some 5-6-7 years behind when it
come to good music :D Just wanted to say thx!!!
+Explosionskatze I don't think that you're behind, it's just that the record labels and radio stations don't like taking risks and sign new bands. Go out to independent music clubs and you'll fins all sorts of new music.
The French singer and multi-instrumentalist just released a new album called Skyline, and it captures his aesthetic perfectly: Its rich, buzzy, liltingly eccentric pop ...
What? What relevance does this have to any part of the
conversation/argument you've managed to strike up here in the comments
section of a Youtube video you profess to be uninterested in. You aren't
making yourself happy by trolling for no reason and inexplicably judging
people by their Youtube video output. Not everyone has the desire to make
and share videos. Hush child. Never use two exclamation points in a row, it
makes you look stupid. Learn. Live. Stop trolling. Go away.
I got a lot actually but I don't really feel the need to show it on
youtube. Plus I don't like some random stranger expressing some repressed
nonsense without there being any real consequences for their actions...
It's so contrary to everything one learns in actual social situations. But
hey, that's just my opinion ;)
Yann Tiersen's music hits me the way Nujabes' (Japanese producer) music
hits me. I love all of these songs and they are even better acoustic!! His
orchestra and piano pieces are preferable in my eyes but none the less
they're still great.
You won't be disappointed--I saw him last year, on the Skyline tour. The
sound quality wasn't great, but that was just the venue. Otherwise,
completely amazing. Wish I had known the songs better at that time, so I
could sing along.
I'm surprised to see a PC on the desk. You would think with this much
hipster and music involved, Mac would reign supreme. Incidently, I could
totally get into Yann's sound. Its kinda cool.
Hah. He's listed as "eccentric Pop" As if they never heard the sounds of
living beauty of Angels that is of Yann Tiersen. One does not classify such
magnificence

That is exactly what I was thinking! He's like "but... Guys! I'm stuck! Don't leave me!!"
