It's probably among the fastest-accelerating cars in the world, but it doesn't have the fastest top speed. 1 Its rocket only burns off all it's fuel in a few seconds. A car that low-profile can't possibly carry enough. 2 It doesn't have the aerodynamics to go supersonic. The fastest cars in the world have fighter jet engines, not rocket engines. Nowhere near the acceleration, but they're easy enough on fuel (and burn cheaper kerosene) to actually reach their top speeds. ;)

that is one fast rocket car! by the way, bugatti does not hold the speed record for a street car. its in the top four though. the fastest is the shelby ssc ultimate aero that went 257mph... and that has a twin turbocharged v8. the next three cars are kinda tied.. the bugatti with the v-16, the hennessy venom 1000 viper with the twin turbo v-10, and the pagani zonda. all these cars top over 250 which is absolutely rediculous in my books.

@Lokivoid Thanks... but I know what is sounds like. I was in the military and I have been around plenty of things like this, very up close, that were not related to my service. I agree, it is deafening. 10 feet away from an afterburner would be intolerable, between heat and pure pressure/noise. I was just saying that it would have been nice to hear the audio from the actual video, rather than an R&B song.

@ptschafer If you want to hear the sound of the car go stand next to a airforce base. The car is not wheel driven it is pushed by a jet engine. However the music in this video is far worse than the deffing sound of a jet turbine engine 10 feet away.

Its not a solid rocketbooster driven car, hence not the fastest. Nitro aint the faster than solids, although if we talk engine-driven cars, then the Nitro top fuelers win.
