OPDA Squeal

Here is the "laughing monkey" squeal of an OPDA going bad. They don't always squeal, but if you have this symptom it's on the way out.

HUGE issue in all 2005-2006 TJs. they redesigned the OPDA and its horrible. They all fail eventually. I guess chrysler just got lazy those years. Search OPDA on jeep forum and theres a huge article explaining why this happens.

06 Tj - Same Issue. Just started the other evening. Has anyone swapped it for a Dorman 689-201 Camshaft Synchronizer? it replaces the OEM crap part. Wonder how long it will last?.?.

Brown paper bags and a sharpie! I always label every bolt set. I did put new lifters, gasket matched the head and wrapped the ehaust manifold. Years ago done the high flow catalytic convertor and two chamber flowmaster, next year is single chamber and some new air intake stuff! Good luck with your build!

Dude this sounds mean. All you did is a new cam? I got a 94 xj 4.0 and I'm about to be putting in a new cam, lifter, push rods, gaskets obviously, maybe cam bearings. Any tips for the teardown?
