force..you;ll be in our thoughts. xxx heartandsoul
Sorry to hear you feel the need to back on meds. I was prescribed Haldol
when I was first diagnosed with TS, and my psych told me about the
potential for Tardive Dyskinesia. I wasn't on it long. Problem is both
those drugs were developed for psychotic disorders first and foremost, so
the side-effects can be heinous and often not worth it for TS people. It's
a shame there aren't far better treatments for ts by now. I would tell the
doc about the seizure; think that could be bad. Good luck.
I want Haldol for my TS and I'm also schizotypal mildly so these
antipsychotics should do it all for me I think. I'm having an appointment
with a psychiatrist soon.. :) happy excited and scared about that. can you
describe what you exactly feel? more relaxed of mored drowsy?? for so far I
only take ritalin.. but gonna try this maybe both.
I can already feel the effects of no sleep, dry mouth, body tremors....I
don't like this medication at all. And it gave me nightmares. I wish I
could afford D.B.S......I don't understand why there isn't better
medication and treatments for tourette's either.....Ahhhhhggggr!!! Thanks
for commenting. I hope your day is a happy one. LOVE!

For Healthcare Profe
+Tony Boroni I just learned about this drug in school and my professor agrees. He's a psychiatric NP and he never prescribes Haldol because it's "nasty". It's outdated too. There are far better meds on the market today.
my experiences with Haldol/Haloperidol
my experience with haldol.
Switched Back to Haldol Injections Update
The experiment with the Abilify injections is over. Now back on Haldol.
What symptoms are you having exactly do you hallucinate and hear voices
because that haldol made me feel absolutely horrible i would have done
anything to escape the torture in that hospital they forced on me. Whatever
these country cattle farmers do you like your grazin to me.
+aron clark There are two different kinds of Haldol I believe. One is short-acting, and one is long-acting. I take the long-acting one. You might have been on the short-acting one in the hospital. The short-acting one tends to pack quite a punch I think. Also, different meds work for different people. I don't think I hallucinate. I mostly have delusions and paranoia and lack of motivation...things like that. I don't think I've heard voices. I also sometimes have anxiety. If you are given a huge dose of Haldol it can be bad. I'm on a pretty low dose relatively speaking. It can make me a bit sleepy sometimes, but it is also good, because it does help me sleep where sometimes when I'm psychotic and paranoid I tend to avoid sleeping.
hello Kristen... I am diagnosed with schizoaffective disorder and have been
diagnosed as paranoid schizophrenic in the past... you are courageous to
come out with your illness and be proud... this message is my first attempt
to come out of hiding and say this is me... thank you for making me want to
be courageous too.
+kristinbell hey Kristin.... Thank you for the encouragement.. i have lost some friends and family because i told them that i have a mental illness... It is hard to not feel bad about yourself when others avoid you cause of your illness
Great video, you guys illustrated all the contraindications, indications
etc. in a fun way to remember (AND ITS NOT making fun of people taking
Haldol, to the previous idiot comment)....!
I was on Haldol and it turned me into a zombie. I physically could not
connect or hold meaningful conversations and it made my seizure disorder
worse.
