Although this guitar may bare the Telecaster badge, it's got plenty of twists and turns to make this a completely individual model. Three pickups, in a HSS ...
+William Johansen If you were planning it to be your sort of 'only' guitar I'd go with this - a far greater range of tones, and better resale value as it says fender on it
Different individual guitars possess different characteristics....just try a few to make sure the neck is comfortable and the pickups sound good TO YOU. ;)
Thanks again for all the videos. They have been very helpful. Epiphone LP
Special II "Slash AFD" and this Squier Tele. are now the two on the short
list. I got a chance to have a good listen to the Squier Tele. and Strat.
today, through Fender Champion 40 and Blackstar 30W amp with modeling and
fancy bits. I liked the Tele. sounds in bridge and center position most.
I will likely be pairing either guitar with an Orange Crush 35RT. Any
input on differences between the two, Tele. vs. LP Special II AFD? Would
the 35W Orange Amp be enough to play alongside a drum kit? Thanks again,
any input would be most appreciated.
+Isaiah FurrowI have just purchased a Peavey Vypyr VIP-1.. 20 watts thru a 8" speaker.. and lots of tonal options. And a Squier Affinity Telecaster Special in Butterscotch Blonde.A very nice rig for playing small-medium venues.. all for $360 + tax.I used to own a Peavey Vypyr 15 watt thru an 8" spkr.. and it was plenty loud enough for gigging (w head-room).
+Missy VictoriaI'm still leaning towards the Orange Crush 35RT as our next amp. Also looking into picking up a Fender Tele. There's a model that's a little different than the sd. ones and it's also not much more than a Squier. The Slash AFD and LP Express (3/4 size) are also still up there on our list. For now we are using a red Mini Strat, and an Orange Crush 12 that we picked up recently, along with a couple books, some DVDs, and the Rocksmith video game. Thanks for your input... Moonshadow
+Isaiah Furrow Tele has single-coil pups.. while the Epi LP Special II sports humbuckers. Two different worlds. I think you should grab both in so to cover the gamut. As for amps.. I would think the Fender Champion 40 would (should) suit your needs.. as well as the Blackstar and Orange, as well. 30-40 solid-state watts cranked should suffice as long as your drummer isn't going crazy. Best wishes.
I was wondering, I got this pack but my supposedly butterscotch tele is
completely Matt in colour, no wood showing through, I'm not sure what the
deal is and I can't find anything online about this phenomena
+Samuel S H K Musical Mines quite new, I got it around April or March this year and it isn't string through. This Tele range is very strange, the burst coloured version of the guitar IS string through, has a skunk stripe on the neck whereas the butterscotch one doesn't.
Look at the back of the neck, where does it say it was made. 2nd is it string through?
Fender Telecaster American Special Review
Fender's American Special Telecaster comes in a striking Lake Placid Blue finish and possesses all of the qualities that have made so many guitarists choose ...
Am I mistaken that this guy didn't already do a review for this guitar?
The guitar has been out several years now with the same configuration, but
has merely changed color options. This color changes the fretboard to
Rosewood from Maple is the only difference.
+Kevin In late 2013, Fender started installing the Custom Shop Texas Special pickups on this guitar....much improvement over the previous pickups. I bought mine in March 2014, and it's a great Tele. I've only done one upgrade/mod to it...installed those new beautiful chrome staggered Fender locking tuners just last week, just because it's so easy to do (20 minutes), so inexpensive ($45), and makes changing strings a quick and simple (I HATE winding strings on the tuner poles) 5 minute task. Now, changing strings on my Tele is just as easy and quick as changing strings on my '89 and '92 Strat Plus guitars.
The Fender Coronado is a much anticipated model, reissued in 2013 as part of Fender's Modern Player series. The distinctively-styled thin semi-hollow maple ...
+Daniel Toral$699 at zZounds.com.....without a case. I opted for the $39.95 Gig Bag since it is not going to get out of my studio. I got the Candy Apple Red and it is absolutely gorgeous. If you're concerned about it being made in China don't be. The craftsmanship is absolutely flawless.
I am interested in both the Starcaster and the Coronado II reissues. As a
Rhythm Guitar Player is one or the other better suited for me? What are the
basic differences between the two models from a tone perspective?
Hi Ken. We also reviewed the Starcaster so hopefully this video should help you out: Fender Starcaster Review . Let us know if you need any more help :)
