I've had this guitar for a while now and wanted do a review before I swapped some parts. I had bought it with the intention of turning it into a Rivers Cuomo ...
I got just question .. is there to much difference between the sound of
this blacktop n' the sound of a standard strat ?? I'll appreciate someone
reply me t-you =)
+elmero mero Yeah for sure, humbuckers, especially covered ones like these, will sound much warner and bassy. A normal Strat has single coils and has a brightness and sparkle to it. This doesn't really have any of that. It's certainly meant for heavier music, but as with any guitar, you can play any style on this, it's just better suited for rock and metal, maybe some jazz too with the darkness of the pickups.
yeah, for certain, it doesn't "literally" look mint green, but it does have a tinge of minty green to it, which is how aged Fender pickguards ended up looking over time. Now Fender makes new ones that mimic this effect and simply call it mint green, or as some call it, a "green" guard.
That's what they call it, but have you ever opened a tub of mint ice cream? Go to Google images and type in mint green. I own the same exact guitar and I tell people it's green, though it looks white. I switched out all the black pieces. I put metal knobs on, a mint Gilmour style whammy, mint 5 way knob. And a dimebucker in the bridge. Quite the versatile instrument

I'm looking for my first electric guitar. I've seen a lot of good reviews
about the blacktop strats. Thanks for the demo.
Greatings from Costa Rica :-)
I went to the Perth Show and this was the highlight of the night for me,
that strat and amp combo was the sweetest sound.
