i fairness the UK has 240v mains rather than 110V mains so electric kettles are faster in Britain which is why they are so popular here (UK)

Ah, well, both of these models were less than $30USD so guess that proves the more expensive one you have is faster, but to argue this concept (stove vs electric) we needed to have both be the same price :/
