this is waaaaaaay too much money for this guy. Glad he is back but the Mets got taken. Only half a season played. Wait till he struggles.

+Peter Johnson If he can just stay healthy and give us 30 and 100 , I will be happy and if the pitching is great again, we definitely take the division.  And the Series is possible.  And Cespedes better save some of that money .  He likes to spend I have seen.

+Michael D well he did, he knows that this team is a very very good contender cause of pitching alone. He didn't even have batting like that and made it that far, but in the end he mostly came from poverty so he's looking for a pay day for the rest of his life and to take care of his family.

+Peter Johnson Exposure I agree with.  The money and loophole was good in the deal.  But I would like to thin he came back because the Mets are still a damn good ball club.

It's New York City, I mean even when the mets suck they get nation exposure, but that's what he wants cause this free agency will be his next big pay day, why didn't u think he didn't go with the nats and o's ? +Michael D it's not about winning the World Series, it's a figment of hope that will be present to the mets atmosphere. Cespedes thinks if he does take this team back to the series or the play off at that. He's gone.

Look at it this way. It's smart for both ends. He's not guaranteed the 3 years. Honestly this year is a big year for him because if he performs the way he did last year all year long. He'll be leaving as soon as they last pitch is thrown in the World Series. This year free agency won't be that great, plus he'll sign that contract that he really wants. The mets was the best platformFor his exposure. So everyone will be watching and seeing if he's worth 6-7 years 25 million a piece. Plus the mets are hoping they can do it again this year with cespedes and hope he does really good to pack his bags. Also having him on this team gives the team this moral and feeling that everything is ok we gotHim. He might not be that great but it's his presents.
