ha ha and because of where they live. i have no idea what a european cat is, other than potentially a cat that lives in europe. i am not familiar with the breed.
Going to order two of these. I've been using one of the pet hair sponges,
but it's too big and bulky to fit into crevices of furniture. This glove
is perfect for that!
Listen: //bit.ly/dAHutA / //bit.ly/9qxlw1 On the Books' latest release, the duo creates an emotional roller coaster of outlandish vocals samples and various ...
i was listening to this album, and there is a lot of frank zappa in this.
which questions the ingenuinity of the album. as in there have been so many
artists which border on the avant garde, and there are quite a few
'devices, techniques' borrowed from zappa and bob ostertag. but yes this is
quite a treat. dont know why exactly i felt like bringing this up.. but it
would be nice if you could dig up some zappa mad favourites, or do a review
on ostertag. and then come back to this.
I just have to thank you so much for this review, I grabbed this the day
you put it up and it's probably my run away album of the year. I have
issues with focus and insomnia and the ballsy throw everything we can think
of approach speaks to this immensely. also listened to Thought For Food and
loved it. I'm saving the other 2 records in hopes that they'll hit me as
hard as these did if I can focus on them . again, thank you so much for
this review.
One of the most brilliant albums I have ever stumbled upon. It actually
made me reconsider my aptitude for musicality and any talent for
playing/writing/recording music that I have acquired over the last 30 years
of my life. It challenged my current concept of what music is and left me
stunned like a dear in the headlights. A must hear for anyone who wants to
go deeper into the world of audio imagination.
Thank you so much for your review of this. I really love to watch your
reviews, you focus on the main event - the music. Even if you give a record
I like a bad review or I'm not feeling a piece of music you've loved I can
still really respect what you're saying. In paticular thanks for this
review because it introduced me to The Books and this wonderful record :)
@cole0dioxide Hmm. I see what you're saying. Books definitely have a more
accessible sound this time around, but I don't think that's resulted in a
lack of originality. What they've done is finally made their quirky sound
more palatable, much like Animal Collective did on MPP--but I do like this
LP more than MPP, mind you, heh.
@mattdelhey I understand where you're coming from. It is a weird sound, but
I wouldn't say it's simply for a gimmick. This kind of stuff has a
precedent. It's just not all that popular is all. There are tracks that
lack the vocal samples, though. Did you hear the song "Beautiful People"?
Love that track. :-)
@TheTelepathicKid Thought A Cold Freezin' Night bordered on being two
repetitive, and All You Need sounded really close to some 90s song I don't
like. However, I didn't dislike these songs. They just didn't impress me as
much as some of the others, that's all. :-) The album got a 9, bro. A 9! :-D
Great review! Although I'd like to know which two songs on the album you
weren't crazy about. I feel that there are two or even the tracks that are
just...boring, and which sound very similar. "all you need is a wall" is so
slow, and such a gag that I can't appreciate it.
terrific review. i loved this album. and yes that is why i thought the
review was good, not because of the expert knowledge on the genre, or the
delicate analogies, or the use of quote hands, or even the multisyllabic
adjectives. just that i loved the album.
This album is in the same spirit as Since I Left You by The Avalanches,
maybe a little less "danceable" but definitely I feel like there's a line
connecting the two. Group Autogenics I could have been the therapeutic
aftermath of Frontier Psychiatrist.
Listened to 'A Cold Freezin' Night'. It really reminds me of an album by
Hit! Hit! Punch! Punch! called I Think In Spongebob. It's a free download,
but the whole thing is just the recorded ramblings of a 4 year old with
punk instrumentation.
@theneedledrop What was your most favorite track from the album? I listened
to the album on NPR, and my favorite track right now is 'I Didn't Know
That'...it's kind of got a funk sound. I like how they blended several
genres on the album.
great review man, I love the books. gotta say "enjoy your worries, you may
never have them again" is my personal favorite from this album. such a deep
feeling to it, then the folk-like ending seems to add a sense of
enlightenment.
I'm glad they didn't go in the more almost *gasp* normal song structure
style they dabbled in with Lost and Safe... this album is just as good (if
not better) as everything else they've done, and I'm very happy for that.
^_^
@mfev23 It's a nice listen, but much more bare than what they did on their
2nd and third album. Depends on whether or not you want to hear raw,
acoustic instrumentation with vocal samples. :-P It's a good album. Listen.
I was really skeptical coming into this video (figured it would be some
hipster ranting about The Books) but you actually were quite intelligent.
We share similar thoughts when it comes to this album. Great review man!
i wasnt going to watch this because i love this album and i thought you
would bash it because its not of the "norm". but thanks, i have faith in
your tastes now and i will prolly watch more of your videos. keep it up!
Product Review: Lottabody Setting Lotion
Here is a review for my first experience with Lottabody Setting Lotion. I highly recommend it based on this one use and I'm sure you'll see me using it in many ...
Hi Yes i have hot stick I think it's the best product out there (i have the
bayliss, but conair machine Is just the same) i've got very long thick hair
(30 inch) and it's really difficult to curl so that its stays curled for
more than 5 minutes But with the hot sticks i don't even need hairspray,
just a little water and it wil stay curled for 2 day's :D It's the only
thing that really works for me. With short hair and Lottabody Setting
Lotion it's might even last longer.
Bless you! You are just the loveliest! I am just going to have to get my
video camera to do some more tutorials aren't I! Let me see if I can work
out how to post a video response! Thank you so much! And your pronunciation
is fine... most Americans call me 'Floor', from California to NY, and now
the South too! :D
So funny you mentioned the Hot Sticks. I just found my old set recently and
decided to see how they'd work for a fast pin curl look, and they worked
quite well! Not as well as traditional pin curls, but still very nicely!
They're great for a pin up look when you don't have much time.
Fun tip for diluting taken from an idea from my aunt - use an old body
spray spritzer bottle that has been rinsed out for the diluted setting
lotion. It adds a very subtle scent to the hair since the lotion itself
isn't the most fragrant in the world.
What hot rollers do you Reccommend? I have super super long hair. I also
was wondering what's the difference between hot rollers with the U-shaped
metal hair pins looking things that hold it vs the ones that have clamps.
Thanks!!!
Lottabody setting lotion is wonderful. That's what I use. Oh yeah, and I
just wanted to say thank you for putting up the video on how to cut your
bangs. I cut mine on Wednesday and they came out perfect.
If I said that, I misspoke. I meant to say that it frizzed w/ gel or a
'putty' product...things that alot of stylists use w/ pincurls. I had very
little experience w/ setting lotion.
See my response. It depends on the size container you use. If you are using
an 8 oz bottle, you'd do two parts lottabody and 3 parts water. Or 2 oz
lottabody and 6 oz water. :)
I've just realized that your YouTube account is from Rear Window. Right? xD
lol I loooooved Grace Kelly on that movie :) Your vids are awesome,
especially the Starlet Series
This is amazing!! I am so excited, I get SO much frizz with sponge rollers.
I love Fleur and I read her blog all the time and I am ordering those hot
sticks. How funny!!!!!
They sell lotta body at walmart without having to dilute it. Its in the
ethnic hair section, white bottle pink lettering... I just transfer it into
a spray bottle.
I recommend any Hot Roller set that gets HOT. HAHA. Roller pins re best
because they don't dent the hair as it sets. :) You can usually buy them at
Sally Beauty.
So Ive see you use Lotta Body in several videos. I found a bottle on a
discount table but it does not require me to dilute. Do you still recommend
to dilute.
You are stunning! You have a grace that I can only hope to have. Look at
your beautiful long neck. Jealous me? Not much ;-)
