If you have a classic car that has original parts,make dam sure you find a
reputable restorer.ask for references.do a research on the company.ask many
questions.if they become defensive get out of there.reputable owners will
gladly take the time to answer your questions,because they understand your
concerns.i look for shops that have been in business for several
generations.you may have to go to another city or state,but you will rest
easier knowing you can leave your classic in their hands.
The dealer is NOT liable just because it was in their custody. They're no
more liable than the grocery store if someone does a smash & grab of your
laptop sitting on the seat while you're in their store shopping. No signs
of forced entry? Looks like your R/F window was busted & covered with
plastic. Inside job? Thieves prowl dealer lots after hours looking for
custom stuff. This stuff happens. Lexus of Annapolis had catalytic
converters stolen off over 40 SUV's in one night with a sawsall.
if it's on their lot and they're working on your car, they're LIABLE. I'm
assuming this happened overnight, No forced entry means your door was
either unlocked or someone got a hold of your keys= Body shop being
neglagent. If they're not willing to reimburse you for your lost, Get a
lawyer, what did the officer say when you filed the report?
