Do yourself a favour and do not fly with Air India the seats are very uncomfortable and the staff on the ground are so difficult to deal with it is shocking! If you ever get into situation where Air India cancels a flight just look out for the treatment you get! Do not use this airline there are other alternatives but this lot are a joke for a national carrier. They will treat people very badly when there is a cancellation believe me I have been there and it is pathetic! They are the worst!!!

I have travelled a lot over the past 30 years or so. All those who kep complaining about Air India need to look at themselves first. This has been my observation: the people behave like sadak chhaap hooligans when they are on Air India. When the very same people are on another airlines, they behave as the epitome of angels. I am not saying anything about any airlines here. I've had very good experience wit thopian Airlines & really rotten one with a number of American airlines.

Even the airlines in India like Jet Airways and Kingfisher are thousand times better than Air India, u really cannot compare Qatar with Air India. Qatar gives an amazing service and is very nice to the passengers, Air India has old planes with fat airhostess and no facility at all. Its better that the gov. gives Air India back to Tata, they will make the airline better.

I love Qatar Airways especially A380 yeah yeah I've been on it it's luxurious and I'm in love with it!!!!

You can't compare an airline what only travels to 29 destinations and has a fleet of 30 Planes i am talking about air India even PIA Pakistan Airline is better They Travel to 60 destinations and has a fleet of 40 Planes and More And Rated at 4 Star While Air India Rated at 3 Star If you don't Belive me Do Your Research.

I am an Indian and i feel ashamed to say this Qatar is sooooo better then air India! its true that airlines in India like jet airways and kingfisher are better! i think Air India really needs to do something cause because of this ugly airline. India is now famous for slums! :/

i agree Qatar service and comfort is better than Air India... But shelling out 500$ more also is some discomfort... isn't it?... Why don't people take into consideration the price as well? and trust me Air India is not all that bad

I've only flown on Korean and Cathay, and Korean only once when I was 4 (2000). We prefer Cathay since from San Francisco to Hyderabad, India, it's quicker than Asiana, Korean, Singapore, ANA, and Lufthansa, a little cheaper than Emirates and Etihad, and a little bit better than BA (though BA's not bad).

+Mistah Saeed I haven't flown any of these. Grandma flew on Emirates and Etihad. She likes them a lot. We don't need to fly PIA to get to India when Emirates' 777s, A330s, and A380s get the job done from San Francisco to Hyderabad.

+pigavans I was born and raised in the West and still live there. I have flown Air India about 10 years ago, between Singapore and Hyderabad, and more recently from Hyderabad to Delhi and Chicago. In my opinion, I prefer Etihad largely because of its SFO-AUH-HYD route and codeshare agreement with Jet Airways. I found Singapore AIrlines to be better than Etihad, though. I will never fly Saudia, or Royal Jordanian, or anything other than British Airways, Lufthansa, Cathay Pacific, Singapore Airlines, Etihad, and Jet.

+Vikram Rao Okay, but I also hate most US airports. London Heathrow is a good one, Stansted pretty good. St. Louis, Southwest Terminal: absolutely terrible. Dubai and Hong Kong: very good. San Francisco: excellent. Singapore: best (IMO). I like HYD.

+Shani Jee I really don't like Shivaji Airport. I haven't seen the new terminal but based on my observations in 2008 it was even worse than St. Louis or any of the New York airports. Rajiv Gandhi is the best in India by several miles. Dallas Fort Worth, Denver, San Diego, Phoenix, Edinburgh, Toronto, San Jose, and Hong Kong are all great. IMO however my favorites are San Francisco (mainly because that, SJC, and STL are the ones I fly out of the most), Dubai, Singapore, and Honolulu.
