Johnny Bush and Roy Head, legendary Texas performers perform their hits.... and things get a bit out of hand... but that's live TV... Singer/songwriter Johnny ...
Yes, much of my life, I have really enjoyed Roy Head's energy and dynamic
music profile. I was in the 7th grade at military school in San Marcos,
Texas when he was a High Schooler starting up his band, the Traits. He was
starting out when Rock N Roll was at the Big Bang stage. What I cannot
forget was his curiosity that redirected him, while driving down a brand
new Southwest feeder street off South Shepherd in Houston almost exactly 50
years ago. He had heard a rock n roll band practicing in a garage next to
this street so he doubled back and climbed up the stairs to present himself
to the 4 high school kids practicing rock n roll in that garage apartment.
I had been one of those kids, and you can't imagine how awestruck we all
were when ROY HEAD walked into the room smiling and complimenting us on our
music, etc.! After hand shakes and smiles and gomer palpitations, we all
just stood there out of our minds as he walked on out back on his way once
again. We were trying to figure out the what, why, how, and all the other
shocking feelings that had just entered our minds. Roy still has that
energy and presence that he should be quite proud of since he has to be in
his late 70's.
